June Diane Raphael made headlines at the world premiere of her new movie Weapons with a bold fashion choice. She arrived at the red carpet in a pantless black tuxedo outfit. The look reminded many of Roxie Hart, the showgirl character from the musical Chicago.

The event took place Thursday night at the United Theater on Broadway in downtown Los Angeles. June Diane Raphael, known for her role in Grace and Frankie, attended the premiere alongside co-stars like Julia Garner, Josh Brolin, and Benedict Wong. The movie, directed by Zach Cregger, is set to hit theaters on August 8.

June Diane Raphael addressed her outfit directly. She stated,

β€œWhen you’re a part of such a big genre film and such a giant piece of performance art, it’s time to leave your pants at home. I’ve always said that, you know what I mean? It’s time to lose a major piece of clothing.”

Speaking about the unique setup, Raphael commented on how it matched the mood of the film.

β€œIt’s horror chic. It’s horror glam and it’s a little c*nty and a little horror and a little scary and a little spooky,” she explained.

While the event had a dramatic vibe, Raphael brought humor to her appearance. Her pantless tuxedo choice got a lot of attention online. It sparked debates about fashion, red carpet norms, and how actors express themselves during movie promotions.

Weapons is a horror film written and directed by Zach Cregger. It tells the story of a town dealing with the sudden disappearance of an entire classroom of children. The mystery begins when the children flee their homes at 2:17 a.m. and vanish without a trace.

Julia Garner plays the teacher who finds herself caught in the middle of the town’s panic and blame. June Diane Raphael plays a key supporting role in the ensemble cast. Other actors include Austin Abrams, Alden Ehrenreich, and Amy Madigan.

Despite her role in a horror movie, Raphael confessed she isn’t a fan of scary films.

β€œI am such a scaredy cat. I’m scared right now,” she admitted during the premiere.

She laughed about being part of a genre that she herself finds hard to watch.
