Bachelorette alum Katie Thurston has a positive outlook on her grim stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis.

Per Entertainment Weekly, the former reality television star sat down for a conversation with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp, who is also fighting stage 4 cancer. On the Two Ts in a Pod podcast, Thurston said she's happy that the hormone-blocking therapy is working on her ailment:

"I take a pill every day, three weeks on, one week off. I don't know the science behind it," she said, "It is tough on my body, but it's working. The tumor in my liver has already shrunk."

She continued,

"The breast [tumor] has shrunk in size. My next scan is October. So I mean, maybe I'm being a little too optimistic, but maybe there'll be no evidence of disease." Although "Technically, with breast cancer, I'll never be cured."

Katie Thurston's health developments explored as husband Jeff Arcuri raises funds for cancer research in her honor:

Just two days ago, Katie Thurston's husband, Jeff Arcuri, made headlines when he announced that he would be donating $1 of every ticket sold from his upcoming tour towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

“As tickets go on sale, I’m proud to share that $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to @bcrfcure, in honor of my wife and all those fighting breast cancer,” the 37-year-old penned on Instagram alongside a photo of Katie Thurston, 34.

According to Us Magazine, BCRF is a non-profit organization that aims to raise funds for clinical and translational research on breast cancer. This is conducted in medical institutions on a global scale.

Katie Thurston also took to Instagram to announce the news herself:

“I’ve been trying my hardest to keep this a secret… @jarcuri is taping his special 📺! And even in his biggest moment of his career, he decided to selflessly dedicate $1 of every ticket sale to @bcrfcure 🎀 🥹 ,” she wrote on Monday alongside a photo of the couple and his tour schedule. “To my loving husband — I am so beyond proud of you and all the hard work you put into your craft. You are deserving of every bit of this continued success, and yet, in true Jeff fashion, you’ve chosen to share it, dedicating part of this milestone to a cause that is so personal to me.”

She also said that she hopes her husband's “gift for creating laughter, heal others the way [he has] healed [her].”

Katie Thurston revealed her breast cancer diagnosis back in February. A month later, she revealed that it had metastasized to her liver, making it stage 4.

“I know stage four can sound very scary, and it can be,” she said in an Instagram video in April. “However, given that I am triple positive and the spots on my liver are fairly small and detected early, I feel very optimistic on my outcome.”

She tied the knot with her husband in March, and the two have only grown closer during her treatment. Arcuri even reportedly shifted things around in his tour to be closer to his wife.

“A few days ago, my fiancée Katie was diagnosed with breast cancer,” he wrote in a February Instagram post. “This is an incredibly challenging time for both of us, and as she embarks on this difficult journey, I’ve made the decision to be by her side every step of the way. To my fans in New Zealand, Australia, and Japan: I regret to inform you that my upcoming shows will be rescheduled.” He also noted at the time that fans would “receive an email with all the details” and thanked them for their “patience,” “love” and “unwavering support.” “It means the world to both of us,” he added.

In July, Katie Thurston shared an update on her health and the use of a medication called Kisqali. At the time, she said things were turning up for her:

"July 7 is my big check-in scan, to see how the meds are working with my tumor," Thurston shared. "Good news would be either no growth, or even shrinkage. Not-so-good news would be growth or new spread."

Katie Thurston also conceded to pushing the ailment to the back of her mind when she's not at the hospital, as "cancer is a trained mindset." However, she did admit to not seeking answers for some of the more grim questions:

"My oncologist never told me how much time I have left, and I've never asked," Thurston shared in the video. "Stage 4 is a very scary mentality, at times, because it is forever."
