Jacob Batalon has officially confirmed he’s swinging back into the Marvel universe as Ned Leeds in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which means the squad will be complete and will reunite once again. After the emotional reset of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Ned and MJ forgot who Peter even was, Spider-Man: Brand New Day promises a deeper, more grounded take on Peter’s life, with old friendships, maybe some forgotten sparks, and a whole lot of new drama.

Commenting under Tom Hollan's Instagram post, Batalon dropped a comment that read,

"WE ARE BACK BABY"

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton who has worked on Shang-Chi, the film takes a hard left turn away from multiverse chaos and into the gritty alleys of street-level crime. Kevin Feige himself said this one’s less “world-ending events,” more “saving the city” vibes, with the Punisher and Spidey teaming up in ways nobody saw coming. During a roundtable session, the President told outlets,

"I don't want to say too much, but Destin [Daniel Cretton]… Wait, I will say too much. Destin is doing an amazing job right now on that movie that starts shooting very soon, and he's got eight or nine comic covers up on his wall in his art department that he is bringing to life in this movie. It is super cool."

Filming's already underway in Glasgow, which is somehow standing in for New York, and leaks suggest we might be getting Mister Negative as the villain. For all its worth, this seems to be a huge movie for Marvel, and fans are just as excited to get their Spidey hero back in town.

Marvel dropped a teaser for the new suit of Spider-Man: Brand New Day on National Spider-Man Day, and fans were already hyped up for the film. Hours later, the studio also released Holland's first look as Spider-Man in the film, featuring a new suit.

Tom Holland returns as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, but this time, the neighborhood doesn’t know him. After No Way Home erased his identity from memory, Peter’s starting over in the shadows, swinging solo through the alleys of New York with nothing but a homemade suit and a bleeding heart.

Written by the iconic duo Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, this fourth MCU Spider-Man film kicks off a bold new trilogy. The cast is a wild mix of returning faves and electrifying new energy. Zendaya’s MJ and Jacob Batalon’s Ned are back, Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas bring fresh faces to the chaos, and Michael Mando’s Scorpion crawls back from Homecoming’s shadows. Jon Bernthal’s Punisher joins in, and yes, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk is also a part.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be in theaters on July 31, 2026
