Zach Bryan, who has taken a dig at the ongoing ICE raids in his upcoming song, has now been slammed by fellow country singer Jake Owens, who called him a "toolbox". According to People Magazine, on Friday, the Grammy nominated singer teased the new song, titled "Bad News" on his Instagram, calling out the raids. In the song, he sings:
"And ICE is gonna come bust down your door / Try to build a house no one builds no more/ But I got a telephone/ Kids are all scared and all alone. The middle finger’s rising, and it won’t stop showing/ Got some bad news/ The fading of the red, white and blue."
This new song has divided fans, with many praising Bryan while several conservative artists and listeners criticizing him. Zach Bryan, who is Navy veteran, posted the song on October 3 with the caption:
"The fading of the red, white and blue."
More about Zach Bryan's new song speaking out on the ICE raids, as country singer Jake Owens calls him out
Zach Bryan's new song has come as a shock to many, as according to TIME, he had previously denied that his songs carry any political leaning. Soon after Bryan posted a clip of his upcoming song, conservative singer Jake Owens took to X (formerly Twitter) to call him out, writing:
"He’s a 🧰."
Not just Jake Owen, other conservative fans have also criticized Zach Bryan, with this one fan saying:
"Don't play Zach Bryan songs. Woke Country is nauseating."
Another added:
"Dear Zach Bryan, Fvck you. Sincerely, American Patriots 🇺🇲ICE agents risk their lives daily. Violent leftists throw bricks at them, attack them, spit at them, even shoot at them. And this is the song he released. Career over."
This fan said:
"Zach Bryan is a terrible country singer anyways, his songs are whiny and annoying."
However, many others have come forward in support of Zach Bryan after he released the new track. This fan said:
"Whether you agree or not, Zach Bryan just touched a topic most artists are too scared to talk about. This one’s gonna spark real conversations."
This person added:
"if Zach Bryan has an anti-ICE song that's legitimately braver than all the activism at the Hollywood award shows."
According to Variety, just last week, Zach Bryan became the first artist to perform for a record-breaking audience of 112, 408 in Michigan. The previous record was held by George Strait.
