Jaylen Brown is steering clear of all inquiries about his father's attempted murder case.

TMZ has reported that the NBA star was hounded by paparazzi outside the Los Angeles airport on August 20, mainly about his father, Marselles Brown's arrest, though he opted out of acknowledging them. However, sources told TMZ that the father-son duo are "not close."

Everything we know about Jaylen Brown's father's arrest:

Just last month, the father of the Boston Celtics star got cuffed on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a stabbing incident that took place at an All-American Park parking lot in Las Vegas.

3 News reported at the time that the altercation began when the victim's car was dinged slightly by the suspect's vehicle. Witnesses told cops that things escalated into a verbal altercation quickly, after which Jaylen Brown's father tailed the victim and stabbed him.

Per the latter's girlfriend, Marselles “swung his arm in a straight stabbing motion and struck [the victim] in his back.”

Another witness told the outlet that Brown swung his knife at the victim, who has since been identified as a juvenile football coach, as many as 25 times during the brawl. TMZ reported that the victim sustained several stab wounds on his back, clavicle, and hands, in addition to a broken rib.

He was rushed to the hospital for surgery, while the suspect allegedly absconded from the scene. The New York Post has reported that doctors told Las Vegas police that the victim was left in critical condition after the altercation.

He also reportedly sustained cuts on his knees and face, and had to undergo "a partial gastrectomy to remove part of his digestive system, eviscerated bowels, and a broken right rib that may require surgery to repair,” the police report states, per CNN. “He spontaneously uttered that this was all over a door ding without being asked any questions by Patrol officers," per TMZ.

Per TMZ, Marselles' attorney, Arnold Weinstock, has asserted that his client acted out of self-defense, stating in court just last month that Brown only acted out once he got pistol-whipped. The latter is currently grappling with several charges, including one felony count of attempted murder.

TMZ has further reported that Jaylen Brown's father is expected to make an appearance in court next week. He is currently being detained at the Clark County Detention Center.
