Jeremy Renner denies allegations from Chinese film director Yi Zhou of ICE threats following inappropriate behavior

Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner was recently accused by Chinese filmmaker and writer Yi Zhou of threatening to inform ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) after she stood up to him about a reported misconduct, as per The Daily Beast.

The 54-year-old Jeremy Renner, who began his acting career starring in independent movies such as Van Fischer's Neo Ned and David Jacobson's Dahmer, allegedly misbehaved with Yi Zhou over text messages and also sent her an explicit video.

After Yi Zhou accused Jeremy Renner of threatening her to call ICE and sending inappropriate messages, the Mayor of Kingstown actor has denied her allegations, as per Variety. While there has been no official comment from Renner's lawyer regarding the harassment allegations, a representative for The Avengers actor said:

"The allegations being made are totally inaccurate and untrue."

Yi Zhou, besides being Jeremy Renner's filmmaking partner, claimed that she was also his romantic partner and was in a relationship with him. The director's allegations against Renner included sending "unsolicited pornographic images of himself" on Instagram on November 3, 2025.

Zhou, who collaborated with Renner on an animated movie, Stardust Future: Stars and Scars, and a documentary film, Chronicles of Disney, revealed that following an altercation with him at his Reno, Nevada home, Renner became furious after drinking a whole bottle of wine all by himself. She also mentioned that while he was angry, Zhou was extremely scared and thought he might hurt her. Zhou shared that she had to lock herself in a room to stay away from him. According to The Daily Beast, Zhou said:

"I was discussing about the doc logistics, then he drank a bottle of wine alone and got angry and angry yelling for two hours. I had to lock myself in a room to be safe praying he would not come into the room at night as he was really angry. I did not say a word, I was so scared for my life."

According to the Mail, Zhou confronted Renner regarding his misconduct but was threatened by the Wind River actor that he would inform Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Zhou said:

"When I called him out privately about his past misconduct and asked him to behave properly, to respect me as a woman and as a filmmaker, he threatened to call immigration/ICE on me, an act that deeply shocked and frightened me."

Jeremy Renner's alleged response to that was:

"Immigration will be notified of your—"

In an Instagram post, Zhou talked about how in Hollywood, women and asian filmmakers are ill-treated. She wrote:

The “unsaid truth about Hollywood and the conditions about how women and Asian filmmakers and filmmakers overall are still being mistreated."
