Jessica Alba's production company, Lady Metalmark Entertainment, has teamed up with Netflix for an untitled R-rated comedy that takes the chaos, awkward bonding exercises, and passive-aggressive icebreakers of corporate retreats and turns them into full-blown hilarity. Alba isn’t just producing, she’s starring too, bringing her own experiences as an entrepreneur to the mix.

With Madison Vanderberg working on the script, expect a smart, snappy, and unapologetically female-led comedy.

Speaking about the project, the actress told Deadline,

“As a successful entrepreneur, I’ve had years of first-hand experience with corporate culture and the irony/absurdities that can lie between the lines as a female executive. We were thrilled by Madison’s approach to this subject. She exquisitely highlights those elements that are ridiculous while creating indelible characters who are trying to navigate the world of modern corporate culture – all while still holding onto their humanity. Netflix is the perfect partner on this project – they are leaders in the field of comedy and have nurtured many of the strongest female comedians of the last decade.”

Vanderberg added:

“Having spent many years in women’s media working exclusively with and for women, I jumped at the chance to mine those experiences and to work with Jessica and Netflix on this comedy about a unique sisterhood of alpha female execs.”

Jessica Alba launched Lady Metalmark in 2024 to champion diverse, female-driven, and culturally rich stories across film, TV, and digital media. She returns to Netflix with an R-rated comedy, following her thriller Trigger Warning, which she produced and starred in, topping charts at #1 in 67 countries and amassing over 91 million views worldwide.
