John Krasinski was named People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive in 2024, and he is already ready to pass on the torch with a two-word advice.
Speaking exclusively with the outlet on Monday, May 19, at the premiere of Apple TV+'s Fountain of Youth, which was held at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, the 45-year-old actor shared his two cents for the next man to grace the covers:
"Buckle up," the 45-year-old actor said. "It is a hard crown to wear, but you'll be all right. Just stay focused. Take a deep breath, you'll get through it," Krasinski added.
John Krasinski talks working with Guy Ritchie, starring alongside Natalie Portman, and more:
During the same event, John Krasinski also resonated with fans when he jokingly shared he is a huge fan of British filmmaker Guy Ritchie and his accent:
"Who's not obsessed with Guy? I don't know. I mean, he's got a heck of an accent. He's so gregarious. He's got the best vibe. He's the nicest, sweetest, calmest person, and he talks to them like adults, and so he wasn't talking to them like kids. He was asking 'em what they wanted to eat and did they want him to cook for them and all that stuff, and they just thought they were in the movie. I think they thought this was their big break."
He also reflected on working with Ritchie, 56:
"I mean, for me, I would do anything for Guy. I would've been a waiter in his movie. So to have him ask me to be the lead in the movie with Natalie Portman, I was like, it's the easiest yes I've ever given," Krasinski said.
In his November 2024 interview with People Magazine, the father of two, whom he shares with Emily Blunt, 41, reflected on how he was catapulted into the film industry after having first starred as Daddy Warbucks in a sixth-grade production of Annie.
"You know, I had so much fun, but it never was anything I thought I would do professionally," he said at the time. "I went to theater school mostly out of laziness because I had to make up a semester. And it was one of the most transformative 14 weeks of my life," he adds. "It grabbed my heart and my soul, and I jumped right in and moved to New York to be an actor."
When probed about how he felt nabbing the coveted title at the time, John Krasinski said:
"Just immediate blackout. Zero thoughts. Other than maybe I’m being punked. That’s not how I wake up usually, thinking, 'Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?' And yet it was the day you guys did it. You really raised the bar for me."
