Julian McMahon passed away on July 2, and the cause of his death has now been revealed as lung metastasis due to head and neck cancer, according to The Guardian.
The Fantastic Four actor passed away last week after a private battle with cancer, the news of which was revealed by his wife, Kelly Paniagua, in a statement to Deadline that said:
"With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer."
Julian McMahon rose to fame with his role in the NBC drama, Another World. He further appeared in Profiler, Nip/Tuck, Red, and in the popular CBS series FBI: Most Wanted, among others.

Julian McMahon, was born on July 27, 1968, to heiress Sonia Hopkins and William McMahon, the 20th Prime Minister of Australia. According to Fox News, his "manner of death" was declared as "natural," and his remains were cremated. In her statement, Kelly added:
"Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible. We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories."
McMahon was previously married to Dannii Minogue, from 1994 to 1995. After his divorce from Minogue, he married Brooke Burns, with whom he shared one daughter, Madison McMahon. The couple were married from 1999 to 2001, after which he married Kelly Paniagua in 2014. Brooke posted a picture of McMahon and his daughter, writing:
"Rest in Peace."
McMahon's sudden death was followed by a wave of condolences from his fans as well as colleagues in the entertainment industry.
Julian McMahon, who passed away in his home in Clearwater, Florida, made his last red carpet appearance just a few months before his passing, when he attended the SXSW Film and Television Festival back in March 2025.
