Julie Chrisley has opened up about her mother-in-law Nanny Faye's health scare on her podcast, Chrisley Confessions 2.0, on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Faye was also present on the podcast along with her son and daughter as they talked about their relationship, as the couple is now out of jail.

As they talked about their reunion and the family's newfound closeness after jail, they spoke about the tough moments they faced:

“I think people don’t realize it, which I think is just such a God thing. When you were diagnosed with bladder cancer, I was there with you. We went to Vanderbilt. We did what we had to do to get through that.”

People who follow the Chrisley family closely have known about Nanny Faye's courageous struggle with bladder cancer, which she publicly revealed back in 2022. She revealed that she was in remission in the year 2023 when her son and her daughter-in-law were still doing time. On the podcast, they revealed that Nanny Faye recently experienced another health scare after the couple was pardoned in May 2025:

“Literally, when we got pardoned, I think it was that same week, right? That you found out that there were some things that showed up. I was there to take you to that appointment.”

After serving 28 months, Todd and Julie Chrisley were released after President Trump pardoned them. Trump had called their daughter, Savannah Chrisley, to inform the family about their release. Todd recalled how his wife was always there for his mother:

“That was something that you used to talk about in the emails to me. [You said], ‘I worry so much about not being there for your mother because I was with her for every appointment.’”

Nanny Faye also spoke about her always being present.

He then added:

“Then, the irony of that was that we came home, and then two days later, you were back in the doctor’s office.”

Julie Chrisley added to that:

“That truly was a God moment because that is something. I’m sure you had these same thoughts that, ‘Oh, my God, am I going to be alive when my kids come home?’ That was my fear, that you and that my parents would remain healthy and be OK until I could get there because I have always been that one to be the caretaker. I love that role. That is a role that I cherish.”

Julie was glad that she was there for Faye's recent visit to the doctor. She said it was "a blessing."

Nanny Faye continues to be a source of support for the Chrisleys. On the podcast, she attributed her strength to her unshakable faith and to the constant support of her physicians and her loved ones:

“I always say God has a plan. Just stick with it. Stay focused. But I had great, great doctors, friends, that I cherish until death, that have been good to me.”

A new beginning for Todd and Julie Chrisley

Todd and Julie Chrisley are starting everything fresh after their prison stint. They are not slowing down as they are stepping back into public life with their new docu-series, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, which follows the couple's prison experience, legal journey, and the emotional aftermath of their pardon.

The show's five-minute trailer has been published by Lifetime, which includes the family's struggle for normalcy and Todd and Julie Chrisley's detention as well as Savannah's effort to secure their release.

Todd and Julie Chrisley were recently seen in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where they are helping their youngest son move into college. Their son Grayson will be attending the University of Alabama. He was congratulated by his father, Todd, for making the Dean's List for the Spring 2025 semester.

A photo of the family went viral as fans are excited as it's not only Grayson who is starting a new beginning, but also Todd and Julie Chrisley.

"I have been, and I will be"-Nanny Faye

Despite her health issues and family's legal troubles, Nanny Faye remains the family's emotional compass:

“I am the queen, and the Sergeant is still barking orders. I have to be the backbone. I have been, and I will be. I check on each and everyone to make sure they're doing what they need to be doing. ... I know that there [is] going to be light at the end of the tunnel."

As they start a new journey, Nanny Faye will be guiding them as they go.
