Justin Baldoni, who has been in a legal battle with Blake Lively since last December, is reportedly feeling the financial burden of fighting the case. A source close to the "Undercover Bridesmaid" actor disclosed the news in an interview with People Magazine, saying:
"He’s certainly feeling the financial and emotional weight of his legal fight."
As reported by People Magazine, last December, Blake Lively initiated a sexual harassment lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, claiming inappropriate conduct from him and an alleged effort to mount a smear campaign against her. Shortly afterward, Justin Baldoni, who had previously refuted the allegations, countersued the "Gossip Girl" actress and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, seeking $400 million in damages.
More on the new revelations about Justin Baldoni, as the actor prepares for a long drawn legal battle
In an exclusive statement made to People Magazine, the source close to Justin Baldoni claims that despite the difficult time that the "Jane the Virgin" actor is going through, he is trying to spend as much time as he can with his family. They said:
"He's been spending time with his wife, family and close friends as much as ever. He’s always had a small circle close to him and that hasn’t changed."
Justin Baldoni has been married to actress Emily Foxler Baldoni since 2013. In June 2015, they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Maiya Grace. Two years later, they had their second child, a son named Maxwell, in October 2017. Despite ongoing legal disputes, the couple has preserved their close bond.
The source also claims that the couple is allegedly experiencing stress from the legal case but is staying strong, and their challenges have in fact brought them closer. They said:
"The lawsuit drama is causing stress for both of them, but their marriage is solid and they are actually closer than ever."
As reported by People Magazine, Justin Baldoni is currently concentrating on "his family and faith" and is "leaning on a tight circle of loyal friends" for support during the challenging times of his stretched-out legal battle. The source also mentioned that the "Five Feet Apart" director maintains a positive perspective on the entire legal situation and is confident that things will ultimately turn out well for him. They said:
“[Justin] is a very positive guy," who "believes things will work out for the best.”
The trial is scheduled for March next year, as both parties declined an earlier settlement opportunity in February, claiming it was too "premature" to make a decision. Additionally, in recent developments, actor Ryan Reynolds' legal team has requested that Justin Baldoni cover his fees following accusations of making "meritless claims."
