Kendra Wilkinson says spending 5 years with Hugh Hefner in the Playboy Mansion was a "heavenly experience"

Real estate agent and TV personality Kendra Wilkinson opened up about her experience of staying in Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansion. Wilkinson was a guest on the May 8, 2025, episode of The Skinny Confidential podcast hosted by Lauryn and Michael Bosstick.

During her time at the Playboy Mansion, she was friends with Jessica Hall. Kendra Wilkinson spoke highly of Jessica, saying she was aware of what she went through in her personal life. She said a typical day in her life would include workouts and spin classes, besides preparing for parties. She said:

“It was a heavenly experience for me, like there couldn't have been a better experience.”

She said it was the best five years of her life. She couldn’t say anything bad about her experiences. Michael asked how old she was when she started living in the Mansion. Kendra Wilkinson revealed that she was 18, and Lauryn said she surprisingly looked 21 back then. Speaking about her choices, she said:

“Was I gonna you know be a stripper in San Diego and get knocked up by this guy like or take this one-way ticket to LA and move into the Playboy Mansion?”

For her, these were the only two choices available. Reflecting on them, she said:

“And living at the mansion for me was a safe environment. It was a healthy environment. I got room service 24/7. I could eat whatever I wanted and I would eat healthy. I would have chefs making me salads like every, you know, five times a day, you know, like anything I wanted I got. And the parties were fun. I have been to worse parties outside of the mansion.”

Kendra Wilkinson said Hugh Hefner was a generous person

Kendra Wilkinson shared that she didn’t go to college and had to rely on her instincts to make important life choices. She believed in herself and decided to take a chance by moving to Los Angeles.

She mentioned having a tough childhood, including a rocky relationship with her parents, and described herself as a runaway who had to make her way from a young age.

One day, she unexpectedly received a call from Hugh Hefner, inviting her to live at the Playboy Mansion and become one of his girlfriends, which caught her completely off guard.

When asked how Hefner found her, she explained that while she was living with a boyfriend in San Diego, she had done a photo shoot. The photographer ended up sending her pictures to Playboy without telling her, and that led to the call. When asked to describe Hugh Hefner, Kendra Wilkinson said:

“He was a generous nice person. A very nice person. I don't see him in any other way. He was just a very nice person to me.”

Kendra Wilkinson felt thankful for the experience, saying it brought her happiness, safety, and a sense of stability. While people may view it as controversial, she believed most of the public misunderstood what life at the mansion was like.

From her perspective, there were only occasional parties, not the wild lifestyle others might assume.
