Kim Kardashian is scheduled to testify on May 13 in Paris for her 2016 Paris robbery trial. Kardashian is expected to give a detailed description of the incident that took place when Kardashian made her way to the city for the 2016 Paris Fashion Week. A source told People Magazine,

"Kim’s a bit nervous, but she always said that she wanted to testify in person. This is her choice."

As per the French newspaper, The Journal Du Dimanche's article in January 2017, masked robbers barged into Kim's Paris residence in October 2016, when her bodyguard was not present since he was busy attending to her sister Kourtney.

Kardashian was alone in the residence when the robbers barged in and asked Kardashian for her wedding ring. When she claimed that she didn't know, they pulled out a gun, prompting her to show them the ring. The gang also reportedly stole a jewelry box that contained two Cartier diamond bracelets, a Lorraine Schwartz diamond-studded necklace, a yellow gold Rolex watch, and a diamond-encrusted cross, among other valuables.

The trial on May 13 will be the first time Kim Kardashian will face the alleged robbers in court. The defendants in the trial consist of nine men and one woman, ranging from their 30s to 70s, and are facing charges including armed robbery, kidnapping, and conspiracy. The trial initially started on April 28 at a Paris courthouse and also heard testimony from Kim's bodyguard and her driver on May 8.

What we know about Kim Kardashian's ongoing trial so far

Kim Kardashian's Paris robbery trial began on May 12, early in the morning. The trial began with a testimony from Simone Harouche, who was Kim's stylist in October 2016 and also accompanied Kim for the 2016 Paris Fashion Week.

Simone reportedly slept on the floor below Kim in the same suite and hid when the burglars broke in. Harouche recalled Kim begging for her life when approached by the burglars and quoted,

"What I heard specifically was: I have babies and I need to live. This is what I heard her say."

Gary Madar, Kim Kardashian's driver, was accused of being an "insider" who tipped off the alleged burglars of her movements. His lawyer questioned Harouche about Kim's Snapchat use, where he highlighted that Kim put up a Snapchat story of her being home alone while everyone was at the club.

Judge David De Pas passed on a message from Aomar Ait Khedache, one of the two who admitted their guilt, to Harouche, where Aomar apologized to the stylist after sending Kardashian an apology note from jail several years ago.

The trial is scheduled to run through May 22, and a verdict is expected on May 23.
