The late five-time NBA champion, Kobe Bryant, was yet again celebrated and honored, but this time with his very own bobblehead from the famous baseball team Los Angeles Dodgers, on August 8, 2025. The significance of the celebration was the date 8/8, which paid tribute to Kobe Bryant's jersey number that he wore for almost ten years. However, it was not only LA's home baseball team, the Dodgers, who honored the legendary basketball champion, but also his family members, including his wife and children, were present at the Dodgers' bobblehead night to honor him.
Before the LA Dodgers' match against the Toronto Blue Jays, Kobe Bryant's wife Vanessa and their three daughters, Natalia, Capri, and Bianca, were seen showing their respect for Kobe's legacy. The LA Lakers' shooting guard got married to Vanessa in 2001, and they were together until his unfortunate helicopter accident that led to his and their 13-year-old daughter Gianna's death in January 2020.
Ahead of the game on August 8, Kobe Bryant's younger daughters, Bianca (8) and Capri (6), took part in the pre-game activities with Bianca taking the opportunity to throw the first pitch to the Dodgers' first baseman Freddie Freeman. While Bianca was busy throwing the first pitch, Capri made the traditional pre-game announcement by saying:
"It’s time for Dodgers baseball."
The Dodgers presented the special-edition Kobe bobblehead weeks before the August 8 celebration. The design of the bobblehead showcases the Lakers' champion wearing his famous No. 24 jersey and the Nike Kobe 6 Protro Dodgers with a baseball bat in his hands. While the exclusive Kobe bobblehead can only be found at Dodgers Stadium, 40,000 fans who had tickets to the August 8 game received a free bobblehead.
Interestingly, it is not the first time the Dodgers have paid their tribute to the late basketball champion; even in 2023, they gave away black snakeskin Dodgers jerseys to the fans. It was about Kobe Bryant's nickname "Black Mamba". The jersey had a No.8 on the front and a No. 24 on the back.
The late Kobe Bryant's family also paid tribute to him in 2024

This is not Kobe's wife Vanessa and their daughter's first time honoring him with the Dodgers crowd. In August 2024, Vanessa, along with their daughters, paid tribute to Kobe. They even participated in pre-game activities, in which Vanessa, along with Bianca, threw the first pitch to the Tampa Bay Rays.
