Kristen Chenoweth is drawing the ire of the internet for publicly grieving Charlie Kirk.

Per the Daily Mail, the actress and Broadway star, 57, shocked the world with the comment she left on Kirk's final post on Instagram. The conservative activist was shot dead on Wednesday, September 10, at Utah Valley University.

"I’m. So. Upset. Didn’t always agree but appreciated some perspectives. What a heartbreak. His young family. I know where he is now. Heaven. But still," she penned.

Chenoweth is most known for playing the original role of Glinda in Wicked, a role that Ariana Grande has now assumed in the movie version of the Broadway show. She doubled down on her sentiments when she took to her Instagram Stories to report her husband, Josh Bryant's, Instagram story, which read:

"Such a sad, senseless, and disgusting act! Wow...prayers for the Kirk family and prayers for our nation."

She also shared a post that called Charlie Kirk's demise "horrifying and unacceptable."

Per The Daily Mail, Charlie Kirk's shooter is still at large. The suspect, reportedly believed to be of college-going age, opened fire from the roof of a nearby building in Orem, Utah.

The right-wing provocateur was hosting an event on campus at the time, with thousands in attendance. He was known for his opposing views on gun control, abortion, and the COVID-19 vaccine.

In his final video, he can be seen arguing with a college student about abortion:

"You take responsibility for your orgasms and stop eliminating people smaller than you," he said. "You don't need to have sex before you get married. It's not like showering."

As reported by The Daily Mail, it is unclear if Chenoweth is a Republican, given her stance towards Charlie Kirk. However, in the past, she backed Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. She has also jibed at President Trump at some of her stage shows.

The actress isn't the only one in the industry to mourn Kirk's demise. Shortly after news that he got shot broke out on X, actor Chris Pratt posted:

"Praying for Charlie Kirk right now, for his wife and young children, for our country. We need God's grace. God help us."

Liberal political analyst Brian Allen also echoed the sentiments:

"You don't have to agree with a man to reject violence against him. We cannot normalize bullets over beliefs," he penned. America is not a war zone for political speech. If it becomes one, no one will be safe; left, right, or center."
