Lady Gaga to have a secret original song in The Devil Wears Prada 2

Lady Gaga might have more to do with The Devil Wears Prada 2 than we think as outlets have reported that the actress will have an original unreleased song in the film, which will be a part of the soundtrack and Gaga's next album. Details are currently being kept under wraps, as the singer was seen in Milan recently for a stint in the film. Sources first flagged Gaga’s involvement as a small but headline-making cameo, and now Vanity Fair Italia has confirmed she has recorded an unreleased track tied to the film.

Gaga's cameo brought in much excitement as fans speculated who she would be playing in the film. From everything we know so far, she would be playing herself, and would appear in a scene that portrays a fashion show organized by Miranda Priestley's Runway magazine.

The Chromatica singer has previously starred in multiple projects, including the show American Horror Story: Hotel and the films A Star Is Born and House of Gucci. She has also won an Academy Award for her contribution to the A Star Is Born soundtrack, getting her closer to EGOT status.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 will serve as a sequel to the 2006 hit The Devil Wears Prada. The film is based on Lauren Weisberger’s novel Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, who's first novel served as the inspiration for the first film. David Frankel and Aline Brosh McKenna reunite for the sequel, bringing back the sharp wit and biting glamor that defined the original. The movie will see the return of Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Tracie Thoms, and Tibor Feldman, with new cast members joining to stir the glossy chaos.

The film will reportedly be about the decline of traditional publishing as Streep's character Miranda Priestley finds herself in a dilemma. As reported by Puck magazine, the reported storyline for The Devil Wears Prada 2 will be as follows,

“The storyline being discussed focuses on Miranda Priestly, Streep’s Wintour-esque protagonist, at the end of her career, facing the decline of traditional magazine publishing. She’s forced to go head-to-head with her former assistant, Blunt’s Emily Charlton, now a high-powered executive at a Kering or LVMH-style luxury group, whose advertising dollars Priestly desperately needs.”

Development on The Devil Wears Prada 2 began in July of 2024, after Disney-owned 20th Century Studios expressed interest. Filming officially kicked off on June 30, 2025, in New York City, with major stars spotted throughout July and August. Production will travel to Milan, Italy, with key scenes filmed during Milan Fashion Week and at Newark Airport. Donatella Versace filmed her cameo in early October, and Simone Ashley wrapped her scenes on October 17, 2025. Expect glamor, attitude, and plenty of Prada when the devil returns to the big screen.
