Renowned American journalist Lauren Sánchez and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos have been making headlines as they recently got hitched in Italy on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice on June 27, 2025. Sánchez, who, on April 14, 2025, made a trip to the boundary of outer space on the Blue Origin flight, brought a secret souvenir for her wedding back to planet Earth.

In a June 2025 interview with Vogue for her digital cover story, the 55-year-old Lauren Sánchez told the outlet that her space exploration experience influenced two factors of her lavish Italian wedding, which included the "something blue" that she had with her while she tied the knot with billionaire Bezos.

While Sánchez claimed that she and Jeff had no plans to follow many traditions, she did mention that they were following their popular wedding rhyme, which goes:

"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue."

While Lauren Sánchez's "something blue" remained unknown, as it was a secret souvenir she brought from her 11-minute Blue Origin flight to the boundary of outer space, her "something borrowed" happened to be a pair of earrings from Dolce & Gabbana.

Interestingly, Lauren Sánchez's wedding dress was also inspired by her Blue Origin flight. During her conversation with Vogue, the anchor of Fox 11 News, who is also the founder of Black Ops Aviation, shared that her magnificent journey to outer space was the idea to take a step back from the conventional wedding dress silhouettes. Instead, Sánchez opted for a lacy look, which she took inspiration from the dress Sophia Lauren wore in the 1958 movie, Houseboat. Lauren told Vogue:

"It went from ‘I want a simple, s*xy modern dress’ to ‘I want something that evokes a moment.’"

As she praised her wedding dress, which was designed by Dolce & Gabbana, Lauren, regarding the dress said:

"It just feels like, I don't know, it carries everything I've walked through to get here. It's elegant, it's timeless, it's soft."

Some of the guests who attended the luxurious wedding of the power couple in Venice, included Ivanka Trump, Paula Hurd, Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah Winfrey, Usher, Jenn Goicoechea, Sydney Sweeney, Bill Gates, Vittoria Ceretti, Orlando Bloom, Queen Rania of Jordan, Jared Kushner, Diane von Furstenberg, Karlie Kloss, Tom Brady, Ellie Goulding, Gayle King, the Kardashian and Jenner family and others.

Lauren, who embarked on the 11-minute Blue Origin flight along with pop star Katy Perry, rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, TV personality Gayle King, bioastronautics research scientist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn, to the boundary of outer space, reflected on her space journey and said:

"It was literally one of the most profound experiences I’ve ever had in my life. Seeing Earth from space, I came down and I couldn’t describe it. It was the greatest experience I’ve ever had. Jeff said, ‘It’s gonna change you more than you think,’ and it completely has, visually, spiritually."
