Leonardo DiCaprio is turning to Alfred Hitchcock's iconic film Vertigo for his next on-screen endeavor, as the actor opened up on the thriller being a "reference point" for his next film.
Making an appearance on the podcast The Big Picture, Leo talked about his film One Battle After Another, joined by Paul Thomas Anderson, who served as the film's director. Although quite a few beans were spilled about the action thriller film, DiCaprio also made sure to hint at a new project he's working on, and it has a special Alfred Hitchcock connection!
During the podcast, the Titanic actor opened up on a conversation he had with Martin Scorsese about a project as he said,
"I’m working on a film where [“Vertigo”] is a reference point. Had a conversation with Marty about it. Any time you get to see and talk movies with him it’s a religious experience […] is she a ghost, or is she not a ghost? Is she there? Is he a ghost? So yeah, there’s something we’re working on that’s a reference to that."
Although he did not namedrop the film, one can safely guess he's talking about What Happens at Night, Leonardo DiCaprio's next film with Scorsese, which is an adaptation of Peter Cameron's ghost story novel. The connection with Vertigo makes things even more interesting as Hitchcock's film is well-known for it's sharp narrative and mind bending premise.
