“Let it go old man” — Netizens react as Cam’ron reveals he still harbors a crush on Nia Long, says he wants to take her out on a date

Rapper Cam’ron, aka Cameron Ezike Giles, has a crush on actress Nia Long. On May 8, 2025, he shared on his Talk With Flee podcast that he would like to ask Long out on a date.

Cameron had previous encounters with Long and had slid into her DMs in 2022. Meanwhile, his recent revelation made social media users go into a frenzy. One Instagram user (@lultayy) wrote:

“Let it go old man.”

While some Instagram users opined that Cam’ron and Nia Long would make a good couple, others complimented his date plan.

“They would make a cute couple,” a netizen (@theveganfreeway) commented.

A section of social media users claimed that Nia Long was out of the league for Cam’ron, but others hoped she would still give him a chance.

Another netizen (@anoelle28) chimed in, saying:

What was Cam’ron’s idea of a date with Nia Long?

Cam'ron talked about having a crush on Nia Long, saying he felt a little spark when she acknowledged him during a brief run-in caught by TMZ.

He admitted that while he didn’t know if anything serious would ever happen between them, he would still love the chance to take her out for a nice meal.

When asked where he would want to take her, he imagined a private lunch on a jet with a personal chef, flying around while they watched a movie and enjoyed the food. He added that they could either return to where they started or head somewhere else, depending on how things went.

While discussing Dame with Sen City, City asked Cam’ron if he still had a crush on Nia Long. He responded:

“Always. That ain't never going to go away.”

However, he expressed doubt about getting along with her, but mentioned that she gave him a few shouts here and there.

In 2023, Nia Long and Cam'ron had an encounter at Rich Paul’s birthday party. Speaking about the encounter on the It Is What It Is podcast back then, he said people were rooting for him not to mess things up with Nia Long. He recalled finally meeting her and said she was nice, and she complimented his sense of humor.

He brought up the message he had sent her that she hadn’t opened, and she admitted she saw it and thought it was cool. Before they met, Cam had revealed that he had texted her over a year earlier but didn’t get a reply.

In that message, he told her he admired how she handled a difficult time in her life and praised her strength as a Black woman, adding that she didn’t deserve how she had been treated.
