Lilo & Stitch streaming release date revealed: Here’s how to watch the live-action remake online

Lilo & Stitch is a live-action remake of Disney's namesake animated film from 2002. The remake was directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, and it was released on May 23, 2025, after its premiere at El Capitan Theatre. Here is the official synopsis as per Letterboxd,

"The wildly funny and touching story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family."

Lilo & Stitch will be released on Disney+ on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, more than three months after its theatrical run. This will allow more people to watch it in the comfort of their homes.

The film is written by Mike Van Waes and Chris Kekaniokalani Bright, while Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich are the producers. Here is a list of its cast members:

Upon release, the film met with mixed critical reviews. Despite that, it ended up minting $1.025 billion at the box office. In a Deadline interview, the film's director, Dean Fleischer Camp, spoke about the film's theme of an imperfect family. He said,

"I think that was one of the things that we talked about, thematically modernizing and updating for this live-action version was broadening the idea of Ohana and complicating it with a little more nuance. It just felt like the right thing to do. Given that Nani, who I always felt was a little too rose-colored glasses for somebody in her situation, was so smart and has had to abandon a lot of these dreams or defer them because she had to take care of her little sister and inherited all this responsibility at such a young age."

Lilo & Stitch will start streaming on Disney+ on September 3, 2025.
