The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, made her first-ever podcast appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show. Markle reflected on her married life and talked about her husband, Prince Harry, on the podcast hosted by Jamie Kern Lima, who is a businesswoman, investor, and the co-founder of IT Cosmetics, which was acquired by L'Oréal in 2016 for $1.2 billion.
The 43-year-old, Markle, whose Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, was released in March 2025, followed by her lifestyle brand, As Ever, on April 2, 2025, discussed her marriage to Prince Harry on the podcast. The Duchess said:
"It's not something to be taken for granted when you have a partner, a spouse, who is just so behind you. That man loves me so much. Look what we've built? We have a beautiful life, we have two healthy, beautiful children."
Meghan married the Duke of Sussex on May 19, 2018, and shares two children, a son, Prince Archie (five), and a daughter, Princess Lilibet (three), with him. During her conversation with Lima, she made an analogy of her relationship with Prince Harry. Markle said:
"I always think about it like the end of Super Mario Bros. When you get to the final, final level and they go, 'Slay the dragon, save the princess.' I'm like, that's my husband."
She continued saying:
"He's constantly going to do whatever he can to make sure that our family is safe and protected, and we're uplifted and still make time for date nights."
The comparison of their relationship to the Nintendo game was in reference to Meghan and Harry stepping down from their royal duties in 2020 and leaving England, and moving to California.
The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, took a subtle dig at the British royal family on The Jamie Kern Lima Show

While discussing her marriage to Prince Harry, Meghan shared with Lima the initial days of her relationship with the British Royal family. She said:
"You have to imagine, at the beginning it's all butterflies - but then we immediately went into the trenches together. Right out of the gate, like six months into dating."
The Duchess of Sussex further continued saying:
"So now, seven years later, when you have a little bit of breathing space, you can just enjoy each other in a new way. And that's why I feel like it's more of a honeymoon period for us now."
Meghan, while talking about her husband, confessed that she is devoted to him and loves him abundantly, and said:
"He’s also a fox. If you haven’t noticed, my husband is very, very handsome. But his heart is even more beautiful."
