More about Burning Man 2025 festival
On August 24, a rainstorm hit the Black Rock Dessert temporarily halting admissions at the Burning Man 2025 Festival event. The event officially began at 12:01 a.m that say, and the gates reopened at around 7 a.m on August 25. Ticket prices for this year's festival started at $550, and are still available to purchase.
The festival event culminates with the two-large scale "burns" including the 100-foot-tall wooden Man effigy, and the solemn temple burn, two nights before labor day.
On August 25, organizers of the Burning Man festival confirmed that both the festival gates and the Black Rock City airport has reopened allowing the event to resume.
Austin Matthew, an art creator at the Burning Man 2025 while speaking to Fox Weather reported on the conditions of the art installations in the festivals:
"There are some of the structures that are blown over. Things had broken. And even just driving to our camp spot, there were all camps that were pretty much wiped out. Things were just laying on their side, completely annihilated at that point."
On August 25, the festival's officials noted that they are focusing on assisting drivers who have already entered the event but have not reached their camping site. In a recent update, the organizers noted that rain and wind have stopped in the dessert, and the ground is "driving up." They also urged the attendees to take their time "and follow instructions from staff."
In 2023, the festival had undergone a massive mudfest with heavy rains dumping on the city midway through the week.
