Rapper Young Thug shared his thoughts on the present situation of the rapping industry. In a video captured by the X account ‘@Kurrco,’ the Oh U Went singer said that he always wanted to do a certain type of music but felt that the rapping industry was in a weird place, mainly because of feuds between rappers like Drake and Kendrick Lamar. However, he felt he had to take it to the next level. He said he would be happy to see changes in hip-hop. One of the people standing in front of him said that he had pushed hip-hop. They wrote:“It’s been a great year for hip-hop tho. I don’t love the polarity the beef brought out but some of my favorite rap releases dropped in 2025.”Adding to what Young Thug said, a netizen opined:“I think the disconnect is that some mainstream artists aren’t realizing that there are a lot more artists going the independent route vs going the mainstream route. Yall are smart so yall can draw your own conclusions as to why the button isn’t being mashed for independent folks who are lightyears ahead of your favorite mainstream acts.”Agreeing with Young Thug, another social media user claimed:“He got a point I’m bumping goo sh*t from at least 7+ years ago now only very few that released this decade proving Thugger right.”Meanwhile, one X user called it a “tired narrative,” mentioning:“Such a tired narrative these ni**as just blaming hip hop for ppl not f*cking with their sh*tty albums.”Young Thug talks about struggles, believing in God, and embracing second chancesIn September 2025, Young Thug appeared on The Pivot Podcast. One of the podcast hosts asked him how it felt to return to normal life after his struggles, especially when people were joking about and turning his real-life problems into memes, even though those moments had been serious for him. The rapper replied:“I don't know. I think I've been dealing with the problems so much I ain't even just paid too much attention to it. I think it just came across, you know, one day you just like going through the motions and you're just like, damn. like every like everybody laughing like.”When asked how he went through his legal issues, Young Thug replied:“I don't know. Just God made me a happy person. So, I was able to just have like joyful moments even throughout the whole situation because you just get closer to God. Once you learn that it's never really the end. And if God don't kill you, it ain't the end of you.”Young Thug said once one got this clarity in life, they would think of every obstacle as another chapter in their life. He said God can give second chances, and the situation may not be the end of everything.
