Marilu Henner is keeping the Taxi nostalgia alive with a blend of fondness and playful humor. The celebrity, best known for her character as Elaine Nardo, compared her TV show’s lineup to other classic ensembles — and couldn’t resist stirring things up.
On a recent episode of The Magnificent Others with Billy Corgan podcast, the actress, 73, reflected on her hit sitcom days and made a cheeky observation, saying:
“All due respect to the ‘Cheers’ cast, I always thought the ‘Taxi’ cast was a hotter cast."

She didn’t stop there. The sitcom star explained a phrase her family uses, one she likened to the idea of “BDE,” but with their own twist.
“We have an expression in my family. PF, it’s like BDE only it’s not size-ist and sexist like BDE is. PF measures the s**ual quotient of people or things like, ‘Man, there was so much PF in that movie!’ or ‘God, I went to his new restaurant and…’”
Marilu Henner then clarified:
“PF stands for p***y factor and p***s factor.”
That, she added, is what set her sitcom apart.
“So I always thought the ‘Taxi’ cast had more PF than most other casts. Forget about ‘Cheers.’ Except for maybe ‘Friends’ later.”
Marilu Henner confirms occasional meet-ups with Taxi co-stars
The NBC juggernaut Friends aired from 1994 to 2004, about a decade after Taxi ended, featured its own iconic cast, comprising Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matthew Perry.
The James Burrows-helmed '90s show became one of television’s most iconic lineups, with the group carrying their Manhattan-centered sitcom for ten seasons.
Cheers, by contrast, was set inside a Boston bar. The TV show boasted its own impressive list of celebrities, such as Shelley Long, Ted Danson, John Ratzenberger, Woody Harrelson, Rhea Perlman, Kelsey Grammer, and the late stars Kirstie Alley and George Wendt.
The series, also directed by James Burrows, ran from 1982 to 1993.
Marilu Henner’s own series, Taxi, ran for five seasons between 1978 and 1983, with a cast that included Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd, Jeff Conaway, Judd Hirsch, Andy Kaufman, Carol Kane, Tony Danza, and Randall Carver.
Burrows directed the pilot and numerous episodes of Taxi.

Decades later, the group still reunites from time to time. Earlier this year, the Evening Shade actress joined DeVito, Hirsch, Kane, and Lloyd to celebrate DeVito receiving the Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre.
