Former Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene echoed GOP lawmaker Thomas Massie’s pushback against Elon Musk’s appeal to voters to support Republicans.

On Thursday, Musk shared a post on X, outlining his “biggest concern” about a potential Democratic “clean sweep.” The SpaceX CEO argued that if Democrats were to win control of the House and Senate and eventually the presidency in 2028, they could grant statehood to Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico to secure more Senate seats. He also claimed that Democrats would “open the borders” and “legalize” everyone living in the US to gain more voters. Lastly, Musk warned that Democrats could seek to expand the Supreme Court to secure a majority. After outlining these hypothetical scenarios, Musk added:

"All that is needed to ensure this doesn’t happen is 51 Republican senators in 2029. That is why you should vote for Republican senators this election. Other reasons are irrelevant compared to this one."

Outgoing Rep. Thomas Massie, who broke with Trump over the Iran war and the Epstein files controversy (per AP News), reacted to Musk’s post and took aim at the current administration. He wrote:

"What’s coming was avoidable, but Republicans in Congress let Trump start a war, increase spending, arm a genocide, betray MAHA, and cover-up for Epstein’s coconspirators. I was ousted with over $30 million of foreign lobby money for refusing to go along, and here we are."

Marjorie Taylor Greene, another former Trump supporter turned outspoken critic, reacted to Thomas Massie’s pushback against Musk’s call to vote Republican. Quote-posting Massie’s remarks, MTG wrote:

"Correct... And demanding people vote for them after Republicans failed so badly is absurd. It doesn’t make people bad or a democrat if they refuse to vote. This is a referendum on Trump and Republican failure."

Marjorie Taylor Greene and Thomas Massie have both broken with Trump on several issues and have frequently pushed back against members of both major American parties. While Massie lost the GOP primary earlier this year after falling out with Trump, MTG announced her resignation from Congress last year following a public clash with the president over the Epstein files and the Iran conflict, as reported by the BBC.

Marjorie Taylor Greene says voters will give Republicans a “powerful lesson” in the upcoming elections

Following her resignation, Greene has continued to target Trump on social media. In one of her posts on X this week, Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote:

"There is a powerful lesson that voters are going to send to Republicans on Nov 3rd, but I’m not confident they will learn the lesson. They were given the America First mandate in 2024, and Trump massively violated that mandate with his Iran War, Epstein cover-up, and creating an unaffordable economy."

MTG then blasted Republicans for enabling what she described as Trump’s “campaign betrayals.” She argued that they are gripped by fear of his Truth Social posts and are “scared to upset the cult leader.” Marjorie Taylor Greene added:

"Yet they are going to lose because of the cult leader. So the lesson is coming and the message is being sent once again to Washington. Put America and Americans FIRST! End the foreign wars that we don’t [want] to pay for. Focus on the domestic agenda that makes life affordable for Americans. Everyone is sick of corruption and pay to play schemes in politics."

According to the BBC, the midterm elections are scheduled for Tuesday, when voters will decide all 435 House races and 35 Senate contests.
