On January 2, the Minnesota Film Critics Association Awards were announced. The winners were revealed shortly after the unveiling of their nominations in December. The Minnesota Film Critics Association winners have been announced across a total of 20 categories.

The mission of the Minnesota Film Critics Association Awards is to celebrate the art of cinema. The official website of the Minnesota Film Critics Association mentioned their group of critics in the following manner:
