Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning was released on May 23, 2025, and it's reportedly the last in the long-standing action-spy franchise. Christoper McQuarrie is the director and has also written the script with Erik Jendresen. Here's the official synopsis:

"Our lives are the sum of our choices. Tom Cruise is Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning."

Since its release, the film has been slowly doing well at the box office, and it recently crossed a major milestone at the ticket window. But given its $300–400 million budget, the film has yet to recover this money.

Box Office Mojo has stated that Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning grossed more than $125 million in the domestic market. This milestone has been achieved within three weeks of its theatrical run. The total global collection stands at $356.3 million (with $125.1 million in the domestic market and $231.2 million internationally).

The big production budget of the film might make the breakeven slightly hard, but given the buzz around the film, we can expect it to eventually become a commercial success.

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning is produced by Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie. Here's the list of its cast members:

  • Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt
  • Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell
  • Hayley Atwell as Grace
  • Esai Morales as Gabriel
  • Pom Klementieff as Paris
  • Angela Bassett as Erika Sloane
  • Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge
  • Angela Bassett as Erika Sloane
  • Janet McTeer as Walters
  • Holt McCallany as Serling Bernstein
  • Hannah Waddingham as Rear Admiral Neely
  • Nick Offerman as General Sidney

Cruise has once again performed a dangerous stunt on a plane in the film. Speaking to Deadline, he said that he passed out during the shoot:

“When you stick your face out, going over 120 to 130 miles an hour, you’re not getting oxygen. So I had to train myself how to breathe. There were times I would pass out physically; I was unable to get back into the cockpit.”

Talking about the film's action, McQuarrie said,

“There are stunts in this movie that will melt your brain. There would be a day in Africa – any day in Africa – where Tom would go out and do something that topped anything he had ever done before.”

Originally, the film was supposed to be released in 2022, but the date was pushed back due to the actor-writers' strike in Hollywood.
