Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski have been absent from their own show in recent months, reportedly sparking a "meltdown" in their workplace. Morning Joe, which is one of the most renowned shows at MS NOW, formerly known as MSNBC, has been without its married cohosts for dozens of episodes. Since the company rebranded, however, the two have been marking perfect attendance. According to a Free Beacon analysis, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski appeared in only 70 of 124 episodes between May 27 and Nov. 15. While Scarborough was absent through 29 shows, Brzezinski was absent from 41. Both hosts were absent for a total of 16 shows, forcing presenters like Katty Kay to issue an apology to viewers with opening messages like, “Everybody’s off except me. I’m so sorry.” Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski's schedules for MS Now explored: Free Beacon has reported that the husband-wife duo broadcast from a studio constructed at their home in Jupiter, Florida. The show goes live at 6 a.m., prompting questions about what the couple has been doing during that time. The outlet has further reported that the absenteeism has sparked "chaos" and "a workplace in meltdown," per Robert Shuter, the former executive editor of the American edition of OK! "There’s no leadership," a senior producer told Shuter. "Every day is a scramble. Who’s hosting? What’s the tone? Who’s running the ship? No one knows." Another insider reportedly said: "They have special deals, endless vacation time—but this summer went too far. We’re headed into an election year, and we’re stuck with empty chairs." Just two weeks ago, the morning co-hosts had an on-air debate about the status quo of the Democratic Party. Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, who have been married since 2018 and together for over a decade, spoke to People Magazine shortly after about their secrets to a successful marriage. "We're together 24/7, and that really works for us," Mika said. Scarborough concurred, "I guess, for some people, the strange thing is we love being together all the time."Speaking of their 6 to 10 a.m. program, he said at the time: "Getting up at 4:30 in the morning, and getting shot out of a cannon at 6 and tap dancing for four hours, there's literally nobody on the planet that understands what that's like, except for the person that I'm with all the time." Mika Brzezinski, 58, said that their schedule forged a unique bond between her husband and her: "He's a pleaser," she says of Scarborough, 62. "And, he's like, 'We should be having people over! We don't have people over. We should have, like, a dinner party or something.' I'm like, 'Joe, we have a four-hour dinner party every morning,' " she recalls of her response. "Literally, the conversation is like a dinner party, and it's with the people we would invite to the dinner party, and they're all there, and then they all leave, you know? It's perfect."
