“My thoughts are heavy, my heart follows”: Jenna Ortega comments on anti-ICE protests and conflicts in the Middle East via her IG stories

Jenna Ortega recently took to Instagram to express her concerns on a range of global issues. She has never been one to shy away from using her platform to voice her concerns on social injustices, and in her recent Instagram stories, she has raised the issue of anti-ICE protests. She also shed more light on the problems being faced by Iranian and Palestinian citizens as the tension in the Middle East continues to rise.

In another post shortly afterward, Jenna appealed to protesters to demonstrate peacefully. In the following story, she informed people of their right to protest. She has also used her platform on multiple occasions to amplify the voices of those with fewer opportunities.

Jenna Ortega's statement on anti-ICE protests and Middle East

Jenna Ortega’s direct approach has sparked mixed reactions online, but her statements are consistent with her past advocacy. In one of her recent Instagram stories, she posted:

"The world is crying all over. People in Los Angeles are being torn away from their everyday lives & love... The ones they've built so tirelessly over the years, just like you.. Innocent civilians in Iran are caught in the middle of warfare. Palestinian cries are still being buried in every day media. My thoughts are heavy, my heart follows."

Jenna Ortega then went on to call out those who refused to take action even in these times:

"It is normal to feel confused & hopeless during this time.... But I strongly advise you never stop paying attention. How can we care about anything else as human freedoms spanning across seas are being violated with such violence? Listen to one another & love, but be angry too. Educate yourself as best you can. To say this doesn't concern you, or that it isn't your problem, is a privilege under abuse."

From anti-ICE protests and escalating tensions in the Middle East to climate change and the rise in natural disasters, the world is currently facing a confluence of crises that have increased concerns among the global community.

The anti-ICE rallies have come into the limelight at the national level, and there have been instances of violent encounters breaking out between the protestors and police authorities. The Middle East remains a conflict zone, too, with Iran and Israel carrying out retaliatory attacks upon each other with increasing regularity.

It is also important to note that Jenna Ortega has been a strong supporter of the Palestinian cause since 2023, and has drawn attention to the troubles faced by Palestinian citizens several times in the past.
