NLE Choppa's ex, Marissa Da'Nae, in a recent tweet, slammed the rapper for allegedly going to court over their son's custody. In the tweet, she called out Choppa for reportedly being an absent parent,

"I can't believe this b**** is taking me to court about a child he doesn't even call lmao I get so angry just thinking about this s**. B***h can't even tell a mf when's the last time Chozen been to the doctor or even been to a doctor's appointment. I tell you what. Chozen's birthday was a month ago. This b**** has only called once."

She then elaborated and claimed that Choppa had no idea about what their son "did last week." She further stated that he was reportedly lying to both of them and also tried to make them look "crazy and delusional." In addition, she also joked that Choppa would not be able to "even fill up all 20 Instagram slides of different occasions when he saw Chozen."

When a user asked, "Taking you to court????", Marissa Da'Nae claimed that NLE Choppa made his son fast when he was just a 1-year-old. She claimed,

"Yeah trying to take me to court for a child he barely see. A child he had fasting at 1 year old. Saying a child dind't need to eat 3 times a day. Kids come home starving."

More about NLE Choppa and Marissa Da'Nae's co-parenting drama

NLE Choppa and Marissa Da'Nae were publicly linked around 2021. As per The Sun, in September 2022, Choppa publicly announced on X that he's "single" and "man enough to admit" that he's not ready with some growing up to do. At the time, he also posted a YouTube video titled "clearing the air...," where he detailed the reasons behind the split.

The pair welcomed their daughter Clover Brylie Potts in June 2020 and their son ChoZen Wone Da'Shun Potts in August 2023. Choppa and Da'Nae have had a complicated relationship post their split, in addition to public clashes about co-parenting their two kids.

In May 2025, Marissa attended a Baddies series premiere event, where she answered a question from Always Relevant TV about their current co-parenting situation. Marissa responded, stating that she does not care and wants the rapper to leave her alone,

"I want him and his light away from me. Being underneath his light, I got on Baddies to try to re-expose myself. 'Cause being under somebody's light, you don't like that. I wish him the best, but he can really just f**k off."

According to HotNewHipHop, earlier around Valentine's Day, NLE Choppa had apologized to Marissa on social media, stating,

"I apologize for letting a narrative be ran, my apologies for letting a misconception be conceived, my apologies for not acting in defense to things I should’ve cleared up!"

He also included more apologies in his song Crescent Moon which he was promoting at the time.
