Michael J. Fox is a proud father of four. It comes as no surprise that on May 30, he posted a happy birthday message to his eldest child and only son via Instagram. The heartfelt caption that accompanied a cute photo of the pair reads as follows,

“Happy Birthday Sam…No better friend, brother, or son on the planet. Love you so much.”

The picture is extremely playful in tone, with Michael pretending to strike his son Sam Michael Fox, who just turned 36.

Michael J. Fox - Family and upcoming projects

In addition to Sam, Michael J. Fox shares twins Aquinnah Kathleen Fox, Schuyler Frances Fox, and Esmé Annabelle Fox with Tracy Pollan. The twins are 30, while Esmé, at 23, is the youngest of the children.

Michael J Fox and Tracy Pollan tied the knot in 1988. Fox received his Parkinson's disease diagnosis only 3 years later, and has been outspoken about his wife's support throughout his journey with the illness.

At the start of the year, Michael was alongside his family as he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from former president Joe Biden. He was recognized for his ongoing contribution to raising awareness about the disease.

He commemorated the moment by posting a picture of him with President Biden and the medal around his neck. The language in the caption that accompanied his post was honest and profound:

"On behalf of the million or so people living with Parkinson's, and the millions more who love them, I am proud and honored to accept the Medal of Freedom from President Biden. I still believe with all my heart we will eliminate Parkinson's disease and all who have joined in the fight will have played a part in the victory."

In other news, Michael J. Fox will be making a return to acting after taking a 5-year hiatus from the craft. This time around it will be on the small screen as he will appear in the upcoming third season of Apple TV+’s hit show Shrinking. He joins an established ensemble cast that already features Jason Segel, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, and Harrison Ford.

Fox teased the comeback with a post on Instagram accompanied by three simple words in the caption: “Big feelings incoming.” His role on Shrinking will also reunite him with Bill Lawrence, the former co-creator and architect of Spin City, a show that made him a household name in the 90s.
