Jamie Foxx, during his appearance on the Stand-Up Comedy Roundtable organised by The Hollywood Reporter, debunked rumors about an alleged attempt on his life by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

In the star-studded roundtable conversation, which also featured comedians Sarah Silverman, Roy Wood Jr., Seth Meyers, Chelsea Handler, and Hasan Minhaj, Jamie Foxx shared details about his time in the hospital in 2023 and further went on to dispel claims made by Diddy’s bodyguard in an interview.

During the roundtable conversation, Foxx, while clarifying that he did not have access to his cell phone during the initial period while he was recuperating in the hospital, referred to Diddy, who is also known as ‘Puffy,’ and said,

“This isn’t funny, but I snuck in my phone because I didn’t know what the outside world was saying and I couldn’t get my mind around the fact that I had a stroke. I’m in f**king perfect shape. [I see things like] ‘Puffy tried to kill me.’ No, Puffy didn’t try to kill me. When they said I was a clone, that made me flip.”

He was also addressing conspiracy theories about him being a clone during the conversation.

This was not the first time the actor-comedian addressed the issue. Jamie Foxx had previously addressed the issue during his 2024 Netflix comedy special, What Had Happened Was....

As per the Daily Mail, Foxx addressed the rumors that Diddy attempted to kill him in his Netflix special at the time. Teasing audiences during the comedy special, Foxx said,

“The internet was saying that Puffy was trying to kill me. I know what you're thinking… Did he?!”

The Daily Mail noted that Foxx referenced Diddy’s alleged s*x parties, also known as ‘freak-offs’, and added,

“Hell, no! I left them parties early. I was out by 9, n*****, something don't look right, n*****. It looks slippery in here!”

What were the rumors involving Diddy and Jamie Foxx?

Before Jamie Foxx released his Netflix special, Producer Choke No Joke spoke to Hype+ in October 2024 and stoked conspiracy theories linking Foxx’s hospital stay with Diddy and alleged,

“Well, there there there was a rumor or, I can't say it was a truth because I wasn’t there, but there's been a rumor that the whole time when Jamie was out for the industry insiders, Diddy had did that to him. He called Jamie filming allegedly, or whatever, they told Jamie to chill. He didn't chill and allegedly Diddy and his security beat Jamie ass and that’s why Jamie was in the hospital, allegedly right.”

Continuing, Choke No Joke added,

“But then there's the thing where they saying that they gave him some type of pill or something, that knocked him out. But it's all was allegedly connected back to Diddy, right, because something happened with Diddy and Jamie.”

He also claimed to have seen Foxx’s Netflix special being taped and claimed that Foxx opened up about Diddy attempting to ‘do something to him.’ Choke No Joke said,

“He said did yeah, Diddy is the one that did something to me…after he said Diddy did something to me, he said, ‘and I'm the one that called the Feds on him.’”

The producer was most likely referring to Diddy’s September 2024 arrest. However, at the time, Diddy was charged with racketeering, s*x tr*fficking and transportation to engage in pr*stitution, as per CBS News.

The rumors were also fueled by Diddy’s bodyguard, Big Homie CC’s candid revelations during an interview with Cam Capone News. During the conversation, Big Homie CC also alleged that Jamie Foxx was poisoned by Diddy.

Accusing Diddy, Big Homie CC said,

“Well I know he poisoned Jamie Foxx and Jamie Foxx reported him to the to the FBI because of it. I know that's a fact…Jamie Foxx reported this man to the FBI because of this. Facts.”

Big Homie CC bolstered his claims by alleging that Diddy had even been poisoned while working with the music mogul. He claimed,

“I’ve been poisoned three times. Why am I testing positive for Cyanide? You feel me. Why am I getting the, why do I have, I had pneumonia three times…somebody been trying to poison me.”

Podcaster Joe Rogan, during his Joe Rogan Experience podcast, also seemed to echo the conspiracy theories about Foxx and Diddy.

However, Foxx, during his Netflix special, had confirmed that it was a brain bleed that led to him suffering a stroke, noted the New York Post.
