"NO WAY Sabrina and Gaga need to be nominated" - Internet reacts to Variety's predictions for Grammy's "Album Of The Year" nominations

On October 1, Variety made predictions about who could be nominated for the Grammy’s “Album Of The Year.”

The prediction includes Jon Batiste's Big Money, Bad Bunny's Debí Tirar Más Fotos, The Weeknd's Hurry Up Tomorrow, Sabrina Carpenter's Man’s Best Friend, Kendrick Lamar's GNX, Lady Gaga's Mayhem, Elton John and Brandi Carlile's Who Believes in Angels?, and Laufey's A Matter of Time.

Social media users shared their thoughts about the Grammy predictions, with one X user commenting:

“NO WAY Sabrina and Gaga need to be nominated....The Clipse, Doja, Cardi.”

A netizen opined that Sabrina Carpenter’s album, Man's Best Friend, might not be included in the list. They wrote:

“Mans Best Friend can go; I love my homegirl but this wasn’t it.”

Another online commentator suggested who could win the award, saying:

“Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar or Lady Gaga is taking it but I hope it’s either of the first two.”

Sharing similar sentiments, a platform user said:

“honestly bad bunny is the only one that deserves here.”

A fourth user commented:

“Benito’s and Abelito’s albums have been such good company all year.”

Others appeared to be surprised, as one social media user shared:

“I never know Jon Batiste or Brandi Carlisle released music until it's Grammy voting season lol.”

Walking through Variety’s Grammy predictions

Besides the above-mentioned predictions, Variety also listed a few other names that could make their way to the 2026 Grammy's “Album Of The Year” predictions for the 2026 Grammy Awards. They include Alex Warren’s You’ll Be All Right, Kid, Justin Bieber’s Swag, Coldplay’s All My Love, Leon Thomas’s Mutt, Tyler, the Creator’s Chromakopia, Bon Iver's Sable Fable, Tyler Childers's " Snipe Hunter, Cynthia Erivo's I Forgive You, Sombr's I Barely Know Her, and Kali Uchis's Sincerely.

The publisher also speculated on the nominations for the Best New Artist, which include Lola Young, Sombr, Addison Rae, Megan Moroney, Ella Langley, The Marías, Jessie Murph, and Alex Warren.

Variety also provided a list of other names that could make their way to the list. They include Zach Top, The Red Clay Strays, Mariah the Scientist, BigXthaPlug, Katseye, Gigi Perez, Role Model, Myles Smith, Reneé Rapp, and Ravyn Lenae.

For Record and Song of the Year, the possible nominees could be Alex Warren's Ordinary, Kendrick Lamar and SZA's Luther, Gracie Abrams's That’s So True, Sabrina Carpenter's Manchild, Huntr/X's Golden, Rose & Bruno Mars's APT., Billie Eilish's Wildflower, and Justin Bieber's Daisies.

Additionally, Variety also listed ten other musical works that stood a chance to make it to the list. These include Miley Cyrus's End of the World, Ariana Grande's Twilight Zone, Chappell Roan's The Subway, Lola Young's Messy, Sombr's Back to Friends, Laufey's Lover Girl, Doechii's Anxiety, Coldplay's All My Love, Lady Gaga's Abracadabra, and The Marias's Back to Me.


For 2025, some of Variety's Grammy awards predictions were correct. On January 31, the outlet predicted that Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter would win the 'Album of the Year', and that turned out to be correct. Similarly, their prediction of Kendrick Lamar winning the 'Record of the Year' also turned out correct.
