The Walking Dead alum, Norman Reedus, and Danish supermodel Helena Christensen's son, Mingus Reedus, who was arrested for reportedly assaulting a woman in New York City, made his first court appearance virtually on August 26, 2025. As per the New York Daily News, the 25-year-old Mingus talked about the terms of extending the protection order with Judge Michelle Weber, which was issued during his indictment.
The New York City Police Department confirmed to People Magazine on Saturday, August 23, that Norman Reedus's son, Mingus, was taken into custody following his alleged assault on the 33-year-old woman in NYC. He was arrested by the police near 16th Street and 8th Avenue, at around 8:40 am local time. After authorities reached the scene, the NYPD said that they:
"Observed a 33-year-old female with minor injuries to [her] neck and leg" who was transported to the hospital in "stable" condition.
Under the temporary order of protection issued by Judge Michelle Weber, Norman Reedus's son is not allowed to come in contact with the victim. As per the New York City Police Department, and reported by People Magazine, Mingus was at first charged with a single count of assault and another count of criminal obstruction of breathing.
However, Norman Reedus's son was afterwards charged with three other counts, including harassment, recklessly causing physical injury (assault), and aggravated harassment. As confirmed by People Magazine, the five counts Mingus was charged with are mentioned in the New York Criminal Court public records. Mingus has pleaded not guilty to all five above-mentioned counts.
Norman Reedus's son, Mingus Reedus, will again appear in court in October 2025

Mingus will have to appear in front of the court on October 8, 2025. Mingus's lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, in a statement provided to People Magazine, said:
Her client’s “innocence will become clear” as “the facts emerge.”
Chaudhry, in the statement, also said:
"Despite what the prosecutor said in court — which is not evidence — they [the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office] chose to charge Mingus with misdemeanors or less. This speaks volumes, and much louder than the unsupported prosecutor’s in-court comments."
She further added:
"Equally important, the judge released Mingus on his own recognizance, with neither bail nor supervision. That significant judicial decision amplifies the volume. Mingus is presumed innocent and has pled not guilty."
