What happens in Now You See Me: Now You Don't?
Now You See Me: Now You Don't starts twelve years after the last big show, three rising magicians named Charlie, Bosco Leroy, and June McClure pull off a fake Four Horsemen performance using deepfakes and holograms. Their goal is simple. Drain the wealth of a corrupt cryptocurrency mogul and hand the money to the audience. When the lights go down, J. Daniel Atlas appears and recruits them for a job supposedly passed down from the Eye. They must steal the Heart, the world’s largest diamond, owned by Veronika Vanderberg, whose family business hides a long history of laundering money for criminals. An anonymous caller threatens Veronika, pushing her closer to disaster.
Daniel, Charlie, Bosco, and June take the diamond during a private Antwerp auction through disguises and trickery. Jack Wilder, Henley Reeves, and Merritt McKinney join them, revealing that a failed heist left their leader, Dylan Rhodes, imprisoned in Russia. At an estate in France tied to the Eye, they meet Thaddeus Bradley, who helps them uncover Veronika’s secret client list before corrupt police raid the property. Merritt, Jack, and June are captured, and Thaddeus is killed while escaping.
The final act exposes Veronika live onstage, reveals Charlie as the mastermind and her surviving half brother, restores the stolen wealth to South Africans, and inducts the new magicians into the Eye. Soon after, the Horsemen meet at Charlie, June and Bosco's hideout, as jack and Lula get back together. Their meeting is intruded by a mysterious package, that contains a hologram of Dylan, who reveals that he was never really imprisoned. He then officially brings in Charlie, Bosco and June to The Eye, as the film ends with him telling the group that their work is far from over. This wodnerfully sets up the sequel, and whatever heist the Horsemen will now be upto.
