NYFF adds Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere starring Jeremy Allen White in lineup

Deliver Me From Nowhere, also known as Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, is a forthcoming film in the biographical musical drama genre. The film is a biopic on singer-guitarist Bruce Springsteen and is an adaptation of Warren Zanes' namesake 2023 book. It is slated to be released theatrically on October 24, 2025, by 20th Century Studios. Here's the official synopsis as per Letterboxd,

"Bruce Springsteen, a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggles to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past"

Ahead of its release, the film will have its world premiere at the 2025 New York Film Festival.

Deliver Me From Nowhere will have its world premiere at the 63rd New York Film Festival (NYFF) on September 28, 2025. The film has Jeremy Allen White portraying the role of singer-songwriter and musician Bruce Springsteen. The event will be attended by Springsteen, White, Jeremy Strong, and Odessa Young, among others.

Dennis Lim, the festival's artistic director, put out a statement and said,

“Taking its cue from the stark majesty of Bruce Springsteen’s classic album Nebraska, Scott Cooper’s Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere has an intimacy and immediacy that eludes most film biographies. Anchored by Jeremy Allen White’s revelatory performance, this year’s Spotlight Gala selection is a fitting tribute to a living legend.”

The film's writer and director, Scott Cooper, said:

“The New York Film Festival has always felt like a spiritual home for the kind of cinema I believe in. To now arrive with a film about Bruce Springsteen — an artist whose music shaped not just a country but my own sense of storytelling — is something I could never have imagined. Getting to know Bruce, to explore his world and his spirit, has been one of the most profound creative experiences of my life. To share that experience with New York audiences, in a city that defines artistic possibility, is both an honor and a responsibility I hold with deep gratitude.”

Deliver Me from Nowhere is produced by Cooper, Eric Robinson, Scott Stuber, and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein. The film chronicles the making of Springsteen's sixth studio album, Nebraska.

Other NYFF lineups include After the Hunt, Father Mother Sister Brother, Is This Thing On?, It Was Just An Accident, A House of Dynamite, Jay Kelly, The Mastermind, Cover-Up, and If I Had Legs I’d Kick You. The festival will take place between September 26 to October 13th, 2025.
