Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp, 41, celebrated her 12-year-old daughter Slate’s elementary school graduation recently. Mellencamp was present with ex-husband Edwin Arroyave at Slate’s lower school graduation in Los Angeles on June 6.
Teddi Mellencamp took to her Instagram profile to announce the news and posted a family picture alongside her daughter, son, and ex-husband Edwin. The caption read:
"Just like that our baby girl is graduating lower school. Off to middle school next year. Proud of you @slate_mellencamp_eq"
News of Mellencamp’s daughter’s graduation comes after the reality star confirmed in April that she had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Her melanoma had metastasized to her brain and lungs. Earlier in February, Mellencamp had shared that after weeks of “severe and debilitating headaches,” her cancer had spread to her brain and lungs.
More about Teddi Mellencamp's cancer journey
RHOBH star Teddi Mellencamp has been vocal about her cancer journey to spread awareness. Mellencamp’s journey began in March 2022 when she announced on Instagram that she had a suspicious mole removed. At the time, her former co-star Kyle Richards encouraged her to see a dermatologist after spotting the discoloration on her back.
Mellencamp revealed that the doctor “within minutes” informed her that the mole looked like melanoma and performed a “big removal.”
In October 2022, Mellencamp was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma. She underwent a couple of surgeries and, in March 2024, shared before-and-after photos of her surgery scars.

In September 2024, Mellencamp announced her 16th melanoma—months before taking to social media in February 2025 to reveal a diagnosis of multiple brain tumors. Almost a month after doctors removed several tumors from her brain, Mellencamp announced in March 2025 that she had two tumors in her lungs. In an April 2025 cover story for Us Weekly, she revealed that four more tumors were discovered in late March during an emergency MRI:
"I'm fighting my life. But also for my family's life and all the people I love."
During the April 10 episode of her podcast Two Ts in a Pod, Mellencamp revealed that her father, musician John Cougar Mellencamp, was making arrangements for her daughter’s burial in their family mausoleum. Finally, on April 23, Mellencamp shared good news: her tumors had “significantly shrunk,” indicating that her treatment was working.
The reality star made an appearance at An Unforgettable Evening at The Beverly Hilton on April 28, held in honor of breast cancer research and hosted by the Women’s Cancer Research Fund.
Despite her ongoing health challenges, Teddi Mellencamp continues to show strength, grace, and unwavering love for her family. As she celebrates her daughter’s graduation, her journey is a reminder of finding joy even in the toughest moments.
