Olivia Culpo opens up about hosting Super Bowl LIX and a fashion regret

Former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo shared a fashion disaster moment while she hosted the Super Bowl LIX coverage for Tubi back in February. Aside from the fashion fail, Culpo was also keeping a secret from the public at the time, which made her situation worse.

During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Olivia shared that at the beginning of the year, she was pregnant. However, she and her husband, Christian McCaffrey, had yet to make the news public at the time when she hosted Super Bowl LIX. She also elaborated on how she had to walk in the rain while wearing heels, without an umbrella.

In her words:

"It started pouring in New Orleans... I had been in these heels doing a live show since, like, 6 a.m., and we had to walk so far in the rain. I didn't predict needing an umbrella, but that would have been helpful!"

Olivia Culpo's latest work with the NFL

Olivia Culpo has collaborated with Abercrombie & Fitch to make merch or "fan style" for football fans. The collection is aimed at women who love the game, and fashion is a way to celebrate it.

During an interview with PEOPLE, she shared where her inspiration for the collection comes from. She explained:

"I wanted it to feel lived in and nostalgic, and everybody knows those iconic Princess Diana photos, of her leaving the gym in her mock neck turtleneck and biker shorts."

She continued to say:

"I feel like Abercrombie has done an incredible job of growing with us... As somebody who was a consumer growing up and as somebody who now also loves a brand, they've really been able to grow with the times and provide something that everyone needs."

Culpo, who is now a mother, has also kept other mothers in mind while curating her latest collection. She elaborated:

"I have to be a little more practical about what I'm going to wear for those long days, breastfeeding... I have to wear a lot of camisoles, which is why I was really excited about the camisole I'm creating in this line. It's easier in a lot of ways because you simplify your wardrobe when you're a mom."

Olivia concluded by saying:

"I was really just inspired by pieces that felt timeless and comfortable and practical, that you'll want to keep reaching for and reuse and again, just stand the test of time."
