Maren Morris is recalling a troubling experience during a recent meet-and-greet with her fans.

The 35-year-old took to her Instagram Stories on Friday, August 22, to recount the alleged incident, writing:

“Hi y’all. Tonight’s show was so fun, but someone grabbed my ass during [the] meet-and-greet before the show. I’m going to continue them because one person shouldn’t ruin it for everyone.”

She added:

“Please know I’m there to connect, share, hug [and] all the things. But, please don’t override someone’s personal space. Love you.”

The New York Post has reported that the songstress had performed in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as part of her Dreamsicle Tour on the night in question.

In another Instagram Post, Maren Morris shared some photos from the concert that night, captioning it:

“thank you for a beautiful garden venue, a perfect sunset and for selling the damn show out. we can’t wait to come back.”

Maren Morris' North American leg kicked off on May 30, around the time she dropped Dreamsicle, in West Hollywood, California. It is expected to wrap up this September, though the European leg kicks off by the following month.

During an interview with The Cut, Morris got candid about the inspiration behind her album, citing the divorce from her former husband after five years of marriage:

"I’m not documenting what happened during the relationship. I’m documenting the grief, anger, and sadness that follows, and the vulnerability of putting yourself back out there again … of reconnecting with your female friends and yourself,” she told the outlet in May.

The pair share a son, Hayes, 5. Back in March, she echoed the sentiments when she told People Magazine that the album was “cathartic” for her after the split:

“I feel like if it doesn’t feel like a risk, it’s probably not worth doing,” she said. “So I tried to leave enough on the bone to satisfy my healing. But also I’m not here to make a villain out of anyone or a hero out of myself,” the singer continued. "We all have both inside of us, so I just wanted to tell whatever would heal my heart. So that’s my aim here.” She also quipped that the album involved “a lot of like ugly crying, a lot of manic laughter, the whole spectrum.”

In June, she spoke to Chelsea Handler on her podcast, Dear Chelsea, about the status quo of her bond with the father of her child:

“We’re over a year out now … [and] we get along now and have moved past a lot of it,” Maren Morris said. “We’re neighbors, and I’m just so fortunate that we have put our son above each other’s s***, and it’s better for the two of us if we’re getting along.”

She continued,

“I’m lucky that we love each other so much still. We have the highest respect, but also there is that devastation that two people [who] love each other that much can’t make it work in the real world. It’s always going to be multifaceted. We have the highest respect, but also there is that devastation that two people [who] love each other that much can’t make it work in the real world. It’s always going to be multifaceted.”

Maren Morris, who has since come out as bisexual, emphasised that she and Hurd, 38, are “great coparents.”

“We’ve let each other go in that romantic sense, even though we still have so much love and history,” Morris added. “The person you marry is not the person you divorce, and … just the hardest part is knowing that it’s not the same.”
