Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry were spotted at Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Tour concert in Las Vegas on Saturday amid a flurry of political controversy and social media commotion. Right before their appearance, President Donald Trump had accused Vice President Kamala Harris, Oprah and Beyoncé of engaging in "illegal" campaign endorsement arrangements during the 2024 presidential race.

Beyoncé performed at the Allegiant Stadium, where she lit up the show with numerous celebrities from the music and film industries in attendance. Oprah Winfrey was seen donning a silver outfit as she enjoyed the concert with her friends and longtime friend and collaborator, Tyler Perry.

Gayle, Kerry Washington, Kris Jenner, and Khloe Kardashian, along with other celebrities, were present at the Cowboy Carter Tour in Vegas on night 2.

Trump's explosive claims on social media about Kamala Harris, Oprah Winfrey and AI Sharpton

The President, who is currently enjoying his trip in the United Kingdom, weekend golfing, tweeted late at night on Truth Social, where he claimed that Beyoncé "never sang, not one note" at a rally in Houston despite receiving $11 million from the Harris campaign to endorse her:

"I'm looking at the large amount of money owed by the Democrats, after the Presidential Election, and the fact that they admit to paying, probably illegally, Eleven Million Dollars to singer Beyoncé for an ENDORSEMENT (she never sang, not one note, and left the stage to a booing and angry audience!)."

He went on to add that Oprah Winfrey and Al Sharpton were paid $3 million and $600,000 for doing nothing and for appearing at the campaign event:

"Three Million Dollars for "expenses," to Oprah, Six Hundred Thousand Dollars to very low rated TV "anchor," Al Sharpton (a total lightweight!), and others to be named for doing, absolutely NOTHING! These ridiculous fees were incorrectly stated in the books and records. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PAY FOR AN ENDORSEMENT. IT IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL TO DO SO."

He concluded by demanding their prosecution, claiming that these payments amounted to "illegal endorsements":

"Can you imagine what would happen if politicians started paying for people to endorse them. All hell would break out! Kamala, and all of those that received Endorsement money, BROKE THE LAW. They should all be prosecuted! Thank you for your attention to this matter."

Rebuttal of claims

Public statements and campaign financial data say something else. Trump's claims about Oprah Winfrey and Beyoncé were not denied by the parties, as the Harris campaign has confirmed it did not pay them for personal endorsements.

Beyoncé's firm, Parkwood Entertainment, was paid $165,000 for the Houston rally's production expenses, not for her endorsement or participation. Even Tina Knowles, Beyoncé's mother, revealed that it is all a "lie" and that her daughter was not paid for any endorsement. She also said that Beyoncé covered the cost of her and her team's flights to and from the event.

Oprah Winfrey explained that she "was not paid a dime," even though her production company received payment for the planning of a live stream for the Harris campaign. Oprah stated:

“The people who worked on that production needed to be paid. And were. End of story.”

Furthermore, according to public records, the Harris campaign paid Al Sharpton's National Action Network $500,000 for services linked to events.

Media and legal fallout

Additionally, Trump threatened to cancel the broadcasting licenses of major news networks ABC and NBC for serving as "political pawns for the Democrat Party":

“It has become so outrageous that, in my opinion, their licenses could, and should, be revoked! MAGA.”

The President of the United States has also filed a a $10 billion lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal, Rupert Murdoch, and others over a report about a supposed birthday letter to Epstein. Trump and Paramount agreed a $16 million settlement earlier this month over a 60 Minutes segment that Trump said was unjustly edited to hurt his campaign.

Trump's late-night tweet took digs at Al Sharpton, Beyoncé, and Oprah Winfrey seems to be an attempt to deflect attention away from the stalled release of information linked to Jeffrey Epstein and the growing public scrutiny of his links to the man.
