Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert's joint Instagram post has since drawn several comments, including from the former's sister, Julianne Hough. She penned a sweet message to her niece:

“Welcome to the world sweet angel Everley,” alongside a pink heart.

Robert Irwin, who recently nabbed the “Dancing With the Stars” Season 34 champion title, also echoed the sentiments:

“Congratulations to you both! So happy.”

Yet another Season 34 alum, Dylan Efron, said,

“She’s going to be so loved.”

Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley, announced their pregnancy back in July 2025. At the time, they shared a video of the former walking over to his pregnant wife and hugging her as they gazed at the scenic view.

"We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small ♥️," the couple captioned their joint video post.

Shortly after, Derek Hough opened up about being excited to become a father during his appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show. Speaking with the host, he said, per People Magazine:

"Sometimes I like I forget, right? I'm doing things, and I just glance over there and I see her bump, [and] I'm like, 'Whoa.' I'm like, 'I'm gonna be a dad.' And, I cannot wait. I cannot wait."

He also recalled the first time he felt his baby kick, saying he gets "emotional just thinking about it."

"I felt the baby kick for the first time, and it was that feeling that everybody talks about and describes, where all of a sudden everything became vivid and different," he explained. "And I'm like, 'Whoa, I'm going to be something that I've never [been.] I'm going to feel something I've never experienced before yet.' And, I just can't wait. I can't wait."

Derek Hough and his wife made headlines when they took to Instagram in October to open up about their previous pregnancy losses. At the time, in honor of Pregnancy Loss and Awareness Month, they wrote in the video:

"This video is a tribute to a part of our story." The statement continued, "A chapter of loss, love, celebration, heartbreak and everything in between. Although we are so excited to be welcoming our rainbow soon, we honor our baby that never made it earthside."

The video featured clips of the pair announcing the news to their friends and family. At the end, they shared the moment they learned Hayley had miscarried.

"There are some things in life that change you forever. For us, this is one of those things. A chapter of love, loss, heartbreak, and everything in between," they wrote in their caption. "As we are now in October, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, we share this part of our story to honor our baby that never made it earthside," the couple added. "One in four pregnancies end in miscarriage, a silent heartbreak so many families know, and one we unfortunately had to experience. As we share this, know that there’s a rainbow not far behind. ♥️🌈."
