Emily Blunt talks about The Devil Wears Prada 2

In an interview with Variety, Emily Blunt spoke about shooting for The Devil Wears Prada 2. She said that the experience has been overwhelming and stated that reprising the role of Emily felt like going into "old slippers."

"Overwhelming — in a good way. I’ve never experienced a movie being shot with this much attention. We’re trying to keep the mystique — changing in bathrooms to avoid being seen in costume — but there are fans everywhere. Playing Emily again feels like slipping into a deranged pair of old slippers. She’s insane, and I love her."

In September, the actress spoke to People magazine about the film. She said,

"It has deep emotional roots for a lot of us. It’s not just doing a movie.”

Besides Blunt, Meryl Streep will also reprise her role as Miranda Priestly, while Anne Hathaway will also be back as Andrea Sachs, aka Andy. Other cast members include,

  • Tibor Feldman as Irv Ravitz
  • Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling
  • Tracie Thoms as Lily
  • Lady Gaga
  • Kenneth Branagh as Miranda's husband
  • Sydney Sweeney
  • Daniel Liu
  • Simone Ashley
  • Donatella Versace
  • Lucy Liu
  • Bria Condon
  • Justin Theroux
  • B. J. Novak
  • Pauline Chalamet
  • Helen J. Shen
  • Rachel Bloom
  • Patrick Brammall

The film is an adaptation of Lauren Weisberger's 2013 novel Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns. The first film was directed by David Frankel, while Anna Wintour is the producer. It was inspired by Weisberger's namesake novel. Released in 2006, the first one met with a positive critical response. It grossed $326.7 million at the box office. Streep's character was reportedly inspired by Anna Wintour, who has served as the editor of Vogue.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 will release on May 1, 2026.
