Get ready to circle the awkward family dinner table once again. Meet the Parents 4 is officially in the works, and Owen Wilson’s lovable oddball Kevin Rawley is back in action. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, he spiritual guru-turned-ex-fiancé of Pam Byrnes will return alongside Ben Stiller’s Greg Focker and Robert De Niro’s ever-intimidating Jack Byrnes for another round of generational chaos.

The dysfunctional dream team is officially reassembled. Teri Polo slips back into Pam’s no-nonsense heels, Blythe Danner returns with her tranquil chaos as Dina, and Ben Stiller’s Greg Focker is once again clenching his jaw through another round of tightly wound family catastrophes.

Behind the scenes, too, it’s a homecoming. John Hamburg, who co-wrote the original trilogy and helped turn awkward silence into comedic gold, is back in the director’s chair. His mission? To stir up the old-school dysfunction with some fresh, multigenerational mess. Filming is on track for late 2025, and Universal has already circled Thanksgiving 2026, because what better time to drop a family comedy than during the holiday that practically guarantees one in real life?

So no, this isn’t a reboot. It’s a reunion. And this family? They’ve still got plenty of cringe left in the tank.

The Meet The Parents franchise started with a lie-detector test and a name like “Gaylord Focker.” Meet the Parents, first released in 2000, introduced us to Greg, played by Ben Stiller, an anxious nurse with a talent for disaster, and Jack Byrnes, played by Robert De Niro, an ex-CIA father-in-law with a polygraph and zero chill. Audiences were hooked on the painful hilarity of in-law awkwardness, making the film a surprise hit with $330 million in global earnings and turning “the circle of trust” into cultural canon.

Then came Meet the Fockers in 2004, where chaos went nuclear. Enter Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand as Greg’s free-spirited, sex-positive parents. With even more familial dysfunction and a baby learning sign language for poop, the sequel exploded at the box office, grossing $522 million.

Little Fockers, released in 2010, attempted to wrangle the next generation into the madness. It brought in another $310 million, officially cementing the trilogy as a billion-dollar force in comedy history.

That’s right, over $1.13 billion worth of painfully funny family tension. Through it all, John Hamburg kept the laughs coming as a screenwriter, carefully balancing slapstick, satire, and tender chaos.

Now, Meet the Parents 4 is on the horizon, with a Thanksgiving 2026 release. Owen Wilson is back as charming oddball Kevin, and Ariana Grande might just bring a Gen Z spin to the in-law wars. With Hamburg at the helm again, we’re not getting a reboot, we’re getting a full-blown family reunion, Focker-style.

More details on Meet The Parents 4 are awaited for now.
