Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar's body has been found in an apartment in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority.
The Gizri police have reportedly confirmed the news, revealing that her remains were uncovered on Tuesday, July 8, in Ittehad Commercial in Phase-VI. In a statement, officials noted that the actress, 32, had died two weeks before her body was found.
Images has reported that DIG Raza has revealed that the police officers arrived at the location intending to get the apartment vacated at the behest of a court order. However, despite repeatedly rapping on the door, no one opened, prompting officers to break the lock and strike it down. It was then that they discovered the body.

The Crime Scene Unit was consequently called to collect forensic evidence. DIG South Syed Asad Raza noted there was a foul odor in the apartment, adding that Humaira Asghar's exact cause of death remains unclear. Her remains have since been transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy.
Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed has revealed that the body had reached an advanced state of decomposition, noting that it would entail further testing to determine if there was foul play involved in her demise.

Dunya News has reported that the actress was renting the flat, and South SSP Mahzoor Ali told Images she was living alone. She reportedly stopped paying her rent sometime last year, prompting the officers to visit her in an attempt to get her to vacate.
Images has reported that investigators say they have reason to believe no foul play was involved, noting that the gate and door were locked from the inside. They also pointed out that they were only able to enter the apartment after breaking down the door.
Humaira Asghar was most known for her roles in dramas like Ehsan Faramosh and Guru. She was heavily active ahead of her demise. She also appeared on the ARY reality show Tamasha Ghar and the 2015 film Jalaibee. Her last post on Instagram was shared on September 30, 2024.
As of this writing, her family has yet to issue a statement, and Images has reported that the police are still trying to contact them.
