Eleven Days is an upcoming prison hostage thriller film directed by Peter Landesman. The story is an adaptation of William T. Harper's novel Eleven Days in Hell: The 1974 Carrasco Prison Siege at Huntsville, Texas, which documents a true incident.

The film is written by Landesman, Harper, and Kevin Sheridan. Here's its official synopsis as per IMDb:

"In 1974 Texas, a prison warden faces off against a drug dealer whose failed escape attempt turns into a tense 11-day hostage crisis, challenging everyone's moral boundaries as the standoff intensifies."

Lately, the makers have been announcing new actors who are joining the cast of this forthcoming film. Let's find out who these names are.

Eleven Days gets new cast members

Peter Landesman continues to expand the cast list of his upcoming film Eleven Days: Jennifer Carpenter, Jeffrey Donovan, and Lola Kirke, and John Gallagher Jr. This update comes just days after the makers revealed that Taylor Kitsch, Jason Isaacs, and Diego Luna will also appear in the film. Andrea Bunker and Deanna Brigidi are the casting directors.

Eleven Days is produced by Vance Howard and Vincent Newman. The film's production kicked off this week, and its story will focus on Federico Carrasco (played by Diego Luna), who was supervising the Huntsville Penitentiary in the 1970s. After some people are held hostage, the prison priest offers himself as bait to save their lives.

Peter Landesman has directed titles like Parkland, Concussion, and Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House. Besides Eleven Days, he is also working on films like The Council and The King of Oil. Before transitioning into filmmaking, Landesman worked as a journalist for a few years.

The 1974 Huntsville Prison siege refers to an incident that took place at the Huntsville Walls Unit. Several inmates staged an uprising, and the standoff lasted from July 24 to August 3 that year. It remains one of the longest hostage taking incidents in the history of the United States. Fans of the book might be excited for this project as it will chronicle one of the most interesting and well-documented events in American prison history.

Jennifer Carpenter is known for her roles in The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Dexter. Meanwhile, Kitsch and Donovan have also had long careers in the Hollywood film industry.
