Prince Harry is extending the olive branch to his father, King Charles.
People Magazine has reported that the Duke of Sussex is trying to mend his bond with the royal family following years of tension by sharing his official schedule with them. This includes his day-to-day activities and official engagements.
The Mail on Sunday has reported that this move thus prevents Harry and Meghan Markle's public outings from clashing with the British royal family, thereby circumventing claims of overshadowing from either party. The report comes on the heels of Queen Camilla's 78th birthday, during which time Prince Harry's visit to Angola made more headlines.

Page Six has reported that Prince Harry's increased transparency could now culminate in a face-to-face meeting between him, his estranged father, and brother, Prince William.
“Before that meeting between their aides in London, conflicts of interest or clashes of publicity were relished and even perhaps encouraged by the Sussexes,” an insider told the outlet. “Now, Harry has shifted into a new way of thinking. The tone is now all about ‘deconflicting’ with his family.”
The source also revealed that the Sussexes have offered to “draw up a ‘grid’ of his activities and share them with Buckingham Palace.” And so, this would now allow the Kensington Palace a peek into their busy itinerary, which would in turn keep William and his wife, Kate Middleton, in the loop.
“Harry still doesn’t like being controlled by the Royal machinery, and that won’t change,” the insider said. “However, if the Royal Family have full sight of his movements they can at least plan accordingly.” They also dubbed Harry's move “significant gesture.”
Another source told The Mirror of the move:
“But now Harry has shifted into a new way of thinking. The tone is now all about ‘deconflicting’ with his family. Harry still doesn't like being controlled by the Royal machinery, and that won't change. “However, if the Royal Family have full sight of his movements they can at least plan accordingly. It's a significant gesture.”
Another friend said:
“Harry hopes to see his dad later this year, or next year. “Things are moving in the right direction but, as always with the Royal Family, they are doing so at a glacial pace. But at least all is going in the right direction and that meet up will happen eventually. “The right people are still talking to one another with that in mind.”
The Mirror has reported that Prince Harry is expected to fly out to London for three days next month, where he will be promoting WellChild, a charity for child welfare. As of this writing, it is also unclear if King Charles or Prince Harry made the first move to mend their bond, though sources told The Daily Mail this is the strongest sign of mending things.
'There's a long road ahead, but a channel of communication is now open for the first time in years,' said a source. 'There was no formal agenda, just casual drinks. There were things both sides wanted to talk about.'
Per the outlet, Charles is also looking forward to rekindling his bond with his and the late Princess Diana's younger son, as well as his two kids: Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
'Everyone just wants to move on and move forward now. It was finally the right time for the two sides to talk,' the source added.
Harry and Meghan took a step back from their roles as working royals back in January 2020. Since then, they have been on the outs with the rest of Kensington Palace, several outlets have reported. They now reside with their children in Montecito, California.
Harry was last seen with his father last year in February, when he flew out to the UK to meet with him in the wake of his cancer diagnosis. People Magazine has reported that they met briefly at Clarence House, and Prince Harry left the UK within a day.
Reports about their latest meeting are as recent as July 9, when two of Prince Harry’s aides met with the monarch's communications secretary.
“It was a good first step,” an insider told PEOPLE. “It is always better to be talking.” “It’s a positive step,” the insider said. “There’s optimism that it can be taken forward.”
Back in May, Prince Harry admitted to the BBC that he would "love reconciliation with my family."
"There's no point in continuing to fight anymore,” he said, adding, "I don't know how much longer my father has," referring to Charles' ailing health.
