The late basketball player Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gigi Bryant’s mural in Los Angeles, has been vandalized once again. As seen in the visuals, the mural was smeared with white spray paint.
This is the same mural that was recently restored after it was vandalized in April 2025 with black paint. Social media users appeared disturbed over the incident. One Instagram user (@ryanabanks_) commented:
“Put cameras in the area.”

A section of netizens lashed out at the people behind the destruction, while others suggested making Kobe and Gigi Bryant’s mural private.
“They don't care. The more you care the less they will. They are looking at this post saying, "And I'll do it again!". They have no respect,” a social media user (@deidydeidy) noted.
“That’s crazy but karma gon get them they need to be cameras there and make their mural private,” an online commentator (@michael._g_official) wrote.
“Watch when they get caught doing it the next time,” a platform user (@ltee4ch) shared.

Some Instagram users suggested that this was done out of hatred, while others noted that Kobe Bryant’s wife and kids were disrespected.
“That is SOO embarrassing.....like at that point it's pure hate, cause what????” a netizen (@iang_414) reacted.
“These ppl are sick,” an online user (@peaceloveary) shared.
“The lack of respect for his wife and surviving kids,” a media user (@ms_jenniferdawn_) commented.

Another Instagram user (@thecfurlow) mentioned:
“Damn. There's no bottom anymore. Some people are literally walking around SOUL-LESS.”

Slovenian basketball player Luka Doncic had previously donated to the mural restoration work. According to TMZ, the mural’s artist, Sloe Motion, would like the mural to be relocated.
Sloe Motion previously thanked Doncic and the other donors for helping him restore Kobe and Gigi Bryant’s mural
According to FOX 11 Los Angeles, people who witnessed the mural were shocked by the vandalism. One person, who was from Los Angeles, said they felt personally offended and couldn’t understand why someone would do such a thing.
Earl Ofari Hutchinson, who led the LA Urban Policy Roundtable, insisted that the mural needed to be repaired and also suggested that security should be put in place to protect it going forward. The mural’s artist shared a statement with NBCLA’s Brittany Hope, saying:
“Everything happens for a reason [and] we now want to reach out and get this piece done in collaboration with another business or foundation all donated by us and no charge to the new location. The project will be better then the last with a proper wall whether indoor or outdoor for our community people to appreciate.”
After restoring the work following the first vandalism, Sloe shared a photo on Instagram, writing:
“Fully restored Kobe and Gigi mural all thanks to @lukadoncic and everyone who donated to the go fund me.its great how a bad situation can bring so many people together to bring something back greater.there was so many people that had showed up to help out and it was highly appreciated.i really felt the LOS ANGELES love on this one.”
Doncic shared at the time that Kobe and Gigi held a special place in the hearts of the city, the Lakers, and in his life. He said he was more than willing to help in any way to ensure they were properly remembered and honored.
