As per a recent article by the New York Post, renowned actress and singer Rachel Zegler recently spoke, bringing her Evita performance to an abrupt halt last week due to an unknown illness.
The singer took to social media on Saturday in order to thank the cast and crew of the London-based theatre production. Last Thursday, Zegler had to exit the stage mid-performance due to a mystery illness.
On her Instagram Story, the actress posted a picture of herself performing at the London Palladium on the West End.
“Cannot describe the love in this building every night, but today in particular. I am in awe of this company. The way they come together and never leave anyone behind.” Zegler wrote on Instagram
"Truly hold each other’s hands throughout each number, act and show.” Zegler wrote as she praised the cast’s response to her abrupt time-out.
Though Rachel Zegler had to leave the stage unannounced, it was reported that her exit was not announced until intermission. During the second act of the musical, Bella Brown, Zegler's understudy, stepped over and sang Don't Cry for Me Argentina, the production's hallmark song. The audience seemed to be pleased with Brown's performance, as they gave her an almost 5-minute-long standing ovation after her performance.
The actress posted multiple pictures of herself performing on stage at the West End theater on her Instagram Story on Friday to commemorate her comeback to the stage.
In filmmaker Jamie Lloyd's reimagining of the Andrew Lloyd Webber classic, Zeglar plays Eva Perón, the former first lady of Argentina.
Rachel Zegler made his theatrical debut in London with the production, which began in June and is expected to run through September.
