Angela Oakley opened up about her financial struggles in the season 16 finale of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
In the June 29 episode, Oakley shared that she has accrued millions of dollars in debt as a result of failed attempts at flipping homes for profit. The RHOA alum admitted that she had to seek out Wendy, the couple’s shared therapist, to seek counsel on how to begin to repair the damage that the financial strain had caused to her marriage with Charles. She said:
“I have all of my money in these houses, and I'm in the ditch about all of them.”
Angela Oakley continued,
“These houses have put a strain on our marriage. Because I'm constantly asking Charles to pump more money into these properties, and now he's at a point where he doesn't want to. We have since reduced the price on all of these homes. I feel like we've done all that we can do in order to protect my marriage. Sometimes, you have to cut off your finger to save your hand, and that's what I'm doing.”
Angela Oakley - RHOA finale, more
On the recent season 16 finale of RHOA, Angela Oakley also shared some of her insecurities pertaining to her marriage, and how her therapist has helped navigate those hurdles. She said:
“I just needed some advice on how to deal with my husband and all that comes with him. He's handsome, he's famous, he has money, he's successful. I mean, any one of those things would attract women, and so Wendy has been instrumental in helping us stay married.”
Angela also recounted the group cooking event, where a man approached her with rumors about Charles committing infidelity,
“Afterwards, I told Charles what happened, and he's just like, ‘Whatever they're saying is a lie. Someone put him here. But you trust me, right?’ Charles and I have been through a lot. You know that I didn’t trust him always, rightfully so. But right now we're good. I trust him. He has proven time and time again, ‘You can trust me.’”
Angela Oakley continued,
“After losing all these properties, I'm clinging on to my family, they have been my support. Who would send someone to hurt me and potentially destroy my marriage?”
When asked about her reluctance to listen to Charles when he recommended against engaging in her since failed relationship estate venture, Angela Oakley admitted,
“I definitely feel so bad about that.”
