Robert De Niro makes a surprise cameo on Jimmy Kimmel's late-night show

During Jimmy Kimmel's return to his late-night show following his controversial suspension, The Irishman star, Robert De Niro, appeared on the show pretending to be Donald Trump's new FCC chairman, who is against free speech. De Niro began by saying:
"So you tell Whoopi over there, she better show a little respect, or the only view she’s getting is from under George Washington. The bridge, not the guy."
De Niro was referring to Whoopi Goldberg, host of The View, who did not say a word when Kimmel got suspended until September 22, 2025, when she finally talked about the controversy. Brendan Carr, who is the real FCC chairman, also threatened Goldberg's show, The View. Kimmel then asked De Niro whether he was threatening Goldberg, to which he replied:
"I would never threaten Miss Goldstein. I was just teaching a lesson about consequences."
Kimmel then asks:
"Pardon me for saying, and maybe you’re the wrong guy to talk to, but it seems like the FCC is using mob tactics to suppress free speech."
Robert De Niro then went berserk and said:
"What the f*ck did you just say to me? I am the f**king FCC. I can f**king say whatever the f*ck I want. Look. It’s just me, Jimmy, the chairman of the FCC, gently suggesting that you gently shut the f*ck up."
De Niro said:
"Speech, it ain’t free no more. We’re charging by the word now"
Kimmel quickly asked how much he was charging, to which De Niro responded:
"Depends on what you want to say. Like if you want to say something nice about the president’s beautiful, thick, yellow hair or how he can do his makeup better than any broad, that’s free. But if you want to do a joke like he’s so fat he needs two seats on the Epstein jet, that’s gonna cost you."
